Aggravating Conservatives |
|
One of my favorite pasttimes. Some of my acquaintances in town insist that Clinton is the root of all evil and that bush is a "man of integrity." I told them yesterday that now we know that bush lied about WMD, they had a dilemma. There was only two explanations for his actions that they had to accept. He either lied because he is ignorant, or he lied because he is arrogant. And, just to add salt, I ask them how many soldiers died because of Clinton's sexual encounters? Its so easy to piss off dumbasses. All you gotta do is tell the truth.

3. In my experience they ALWAYS come back with... |
|
..."Well it's just good that Bush was in office on 9/11 rather than Gore."
To which I always just say: "Why?"

9. When they invariably tell me that line of shit |
|
Which they do, all the time, I always respond with "Actually, if Gore had been allowed to serve his term, there would not have been 9/11 attacks"
This always pisses them off, but you know what? Fuck them. The hell with them. The most stunning thing is, when you explain to them that Bush knowingly let 9/11 happen, they shut down for about five seconds. Its like they are realizing it, then quickly dismissing and denying it. Its fucking funny as hell.

The CIA "screwed up." And there's the ever popular, "well, thank God, Gore isn't President." Nary a whimper about Clinton in this latest round of aggravation though.

8. ask them about the office of special projects |
|
in the pentagon - if they don't know about it - challenge them to read Seymour Hirsh's Stovepipe article (Oct 2003; NewYorker). They don't believe that find the American Conservative (emag) article with Karen Kiatowski that echos the Stovepipe article and confirms the OSP. If the CIA failed - it was because the OSP wanted to cook the books on the CIA intel- and given CHeney's history with cooking corporate books... and his unprecedented interventions in the CIA investigations... is this any surprise?

Well put as always
I'm REALLY enjoying listening to the RW talk shows (national, but especially local) twisting themselves into knots trying to rationalize each day's revealed White House lie. I used to get steamed listening to those guys, but these days it's a zen-like pleasure. Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmheeheehee :D

10. The RW got a lot of mileage out of Black Hawk Down. |
|
Remember how often they brought up the horrific deaths of the service members in Somalia and public desecration of the bodies?
Remember how we were solemnly warned that the Balkans would erupt and that there would be disaster?
Now that hundreds are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, the RW is a lot quieter about casualties, or so it seems. It shows EXACTLY how much they value a service member's sacrifice, IMO.
On the other hand, hostility and insensitivity seem to go together for RW types. Tom DeLay (R-TX), who never served in the military (too many minorities volunteering, or so he claimed), made cheap shots at Teddy Kennedy, saying that he didn't want to see the senator don a flight suit. Why, Kennedy wouldn't look as great as GWB in that suit! However, Kennedy and virtually all of his brothers served in the U.S. armed forces, and all three of his brothers died violently, one in the service. So much for patriotism on DeLay's part. So much for sensitivity. So much for a FUNCTIONING BRAIN.
