How many good Republican Presidents have there been?
I can only think of 3: Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Eisenhower.

7. McKinley is underrated
And Grant...though not a great President, was a great man, and was a better President than he is usually portrayed.

Remeber the honnorable William Jennings Bryant ran against McKinney and his cross of gold.

9. Eisenhower had some admirable qualities, but
I wouldn't call him a good president. I'm brought up short by the coups he sponsored, overthrowing democratic regimes in Guatemala and Iran, and in 1955 he chose to circumvent elections for a united Vietnam and recognized the South, installing Ngo Dinh Diem. And the tragedy of American policy towards Castro's Cuba began under his administration.

His short-sighted choices cost millions of lives.

10. Those three

Those three weren't "REAL" Republicans as we know them today. They were all Progressives and Populists.

11. Lincoln.
That's all. Man was a genius. Visited the Lincoln Memorial a couple of weeks ago, and it was very emotional for me.
Sorry, I don't like Teddy though I will concede he did some good things for our country. I don't know where you came up with Eisenhower ;-)

12. Chester A. Arthur
After becoming President after Garfield was assassinated by an office-seeker, Arthur pushed for (and got) civil service reforms.

17. Underrated, for sure
Nobody thought Arthur would do anything; linked to the spoils system. But, he turned out fine. Stylish guy, too.
