Need your input on TOP TEN REASONS BUSH MUST GO |
|
Got this email from BushRecall.org today; list your Top 10 here then I'll forward the whole lot to bushrecall.org
...We're asking for your help on a project for our friend Bill Press, a respected commentator and political analyst who is a regular contributor on MSNBC. From 1996-2002 Bill was a co-host of CNN's "Crossfire" while also co-hosting "The Spin Room", an interactive politics-driven program on CNN. He would love to get your thoughts and insight as to why you think George W. Bush should be recalled for a book he is in the process of writing. Please tell us what you think at info@bushrecall.org, and we'll gladly pass it along to Bill...
Dear Friends: I'm working on an exciting new project, and I need your help. It's on a new book, to be published by Dutton on June 1, called: BUSH MUST GO! TOP TEN REASONS WHY GEORGE W. BUSH DOESN'T DESERVE A SECOND TERM. I know, it's tough - keeping the list down to ten. But what are the top ten? That's where I need your help. More than anything else, this election is a referendum on the incumbent. So, based on his record so far, what do you think are the ten most powerful reasons for dumping George W. Bush
I look forward to hearing from you, through this website, and I'll incorporate your ideas in the book - so we can make this the Democrats' playbook for 2004. Let's get rid of this guy before he can do any more damage. Many thanks for your help. Bill Press

1. Bush is not the element that must go- |
|
Bush is very annoying, granted. However, we are seriously mistaken in our pursuit of the enemy. It is the power behind him that must go and can think of only one reason that matters as to why THAT must go. We have lost our country.

2. He's destroyed everything |
|
But most damaging is how he's destroyed our nation's alliances and our credibility.

Cronyism at its worst -- kickbacks to major corporations (Halliburton) and fat-cat friends.
Pre-emptive, illegal war -- sent soldiers into battle knowing full well that there were no WMDs, and then unlike a great president like Truman, blames everyone but himself and his inept administration.
Fucked-up the environment -- is there anything more idiotic than to publicly declare that the way to improve our forests is to cut down trees?! Scaled back laws regarding toxic emissions (again, helping corporate friends).
Lack of respect internationally -- turned world-wide sympathy for the US into hatred. Turned allies into enemies. The US has lost credibility throughout the world.
Jobs -- more job loss under this "president" than any other since Hoover.
Anti-abortion -- first act as "president" was to cut funding to any US agency abroad that offered abortion advice or care. His pick of Charles Pickering and other Federalist judges to the bench reveal his true far-right ideology that will have long-term ramifications for American women.
Corrupt -- the stealing of the 2000 election, the way they go after their enemies (the Plame affair), their secret energy meetings, and 9/11 information that they still refuse to disclose.
Simplistic, arrogant attitude -- the world is black and white, good vs. evil, absolutely no regard for others' point of view if it's not in line with their neo-con theories (brushing off the UN and European allies), turning any form of dissent into anti-American, terrorist-loving propaganda.
Record-breaking deficit -- the guy inherited a surplus and blew it!
Patriot Act -- the beginning of the end of civil liberties

The USA is intended to be 'by the people, of the people, and for the people." We have a basic need and a basic right to know what out government is doing in our name.
They work for us.
But BushCo hides EVERYTHING. You won't have to research too hard to come up with a chapter on the Secrecy theme -- whether you make it #1 or #10 -- but it definitely deserves a place somewhere on your list.
Good luck with your project.

Lots of reasons, but this is surely a biggie. We can't afford to have him appointing three or more Supreme Court justices.

15. Bush: WE CAN'T AFFORD HIM. |
|
He's spending it faster than we can make it, and the bulk goes to his family and supporters.
Another reason: Mother Earth can't take four more years of Bush.
