Bush People. Your man was AWOL. Deal with it.
Spin it as gutter politics. No.........we're FINALLY GETTING THIS WHERE IT BELONGS! When he basks in the Huzzah! of the troops he needs to be shown for what he was--a ridiculous chickenhawk who begged for any way to avoid Vietnam service...then he worked on politics rather than serve honorably throughout his term of duty.

Kind of like his term as president. He is mostly gone on his barren Farm in Crawford, TX rather than in the White House or other areas doing the business of the government. He's lazy, spoiled, truculent, uninformed, stupid, and evil.

He was AWOL. He is not an honorable man. He is a divider--not a uniter. Get the poseur out of the people's house NOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. I saw the RNC chairman

I saw the RNC chairman on CNN today. He was fumbling over his own words on how GW Bush was "honorably discharged". They won't talk about the REAL issue. Bush was reprimanded and taken off flight status, he never showed up in Georgia, he left the Guard over a year earlier than his commitment.

Bush NEVER fulfilled his commitment to the National Guard. He may have been excused by his political connections, but he isn't excused by the standards of the American people.

Six years MEANS SIX YEARS. There is nothing about going to business school that would have prohibited GW Bush from fulfilling his guard commitment. There was nothing about a Senate campaign that prevented GW Bush from showing up to monthly drill in Alabama.

It is VERY important that Democrats change their syntax. Technically, GW Bush was neither AWOL nor a deserter since he was never formally reprimanded or charged (as far as we know).

So stay on message and be precise. He didn't fulfill his commitment and he was suspended from flight duties because he REFUSED to take a physical.

5. I know. but it felt good. and there are lurkers
who will listen to this and pop a blood vessel. I just want them to hear it over and over and over and over. Just like we predicted last year....WMD had legs. We wondered. and it did happen. I think this presents a weakness. Especially in light of so many troop deaths AND dealing them a blow by not preserving combat pay levels and cutting benefits.

He's weak. Now kick him and kick him. Keep him so far down that a 30% surge in polling will only result in a 5% loss to Kerry.

6. Shrub's resume looks good on the surface, but the details stink.
Served in the National Guard as a fighter pilot...
got in via preferential treatment, but went AWOL for a year and only flew planes that were outdated for actual combat

Attended Yale University
where he was only admitted due to his daddy...and was only a C student

Attended Harvard Business School and earned an MBA
more bad grades...and if his handling of the US economy is an indicator, Harvard's Business School should lose its accreditation

Served as Gov of Texas
where he executed more people than anyone in history, drove the state's school system and economy into the ground and made it the most-polluted state in the country

Served as un-elected POTUS
too much wrong to waste the bandwidth

7. Exactly! They are going to have to deal with reality for once...
Another reality is that, without a doubt, he was given favorable treatment, and was bumped to the head of the line to get into what was called the "Champagne Unit" - a Guard unit for rich kids who didn't want to go to Nam - Bush was a little pansy ass party boy! Get use to that rethugs! The truth is comin' out, and it is gonna be sweet....

8. Was he really working on a political campaign or
was he drying out in a rehab clinic? I've seen other posts indicating that it's possible the "working on a campaign" story was just cover while Srub was getting treated for drug and/or alcohol addiction.

9. he could have been serving freedom fries in McDonalds
for all I care. The important thing is he dodged his duty and lost flight duties. We think that is deplorable especially in light of all his charges that his opponents aren't patriotic.

Our guy, Kerry took shrapnel and saved his buddies in the heart of combat in a war he didn't agree with even though he could have pulled strings to be on the Army ping pong team in the US.

Bush is a coward. He is a totalitarian. He is a Saddam wannabe.

10. Sometimes we have to preach to the choir...
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 06:47 PM by rasputin1952
so the message is not lost.

The reality of gw bush is that he has FAILED at EVERYTHING he has ever attempted. This is the message that must be repeated at EVERY opportunity.

I have challenged people to tell me ONE thing that bush has done that has been a success, there are the usual suspect answers; but in the end, they have nothing to say. Even the most rabid repubs in Nebraska cannot come up with ONE thing that bush has come up with that has been a success!

This is the message that the press should have been putting out since this man first came on to the scene. Molly Ivins in TX has been discussing the bush failures in TX for ages, now, the state is damn near bankrupt because of his insane policies. Only the money pumped into TX is keeping it afloat; that is money from the rest of the US, just to cover up how poor a governor he was.

Failure is failure. When failure is an accepted practice, there is NO HOPE of recovery. Failure can only be overcome by policies of change that reverse the effects. Failure must be recognized and dealt with. Each and every one of us here at DU have faced failures; we've overcome them by changing tactics. bush rests his entire life on failure without change. He talks about Christianity, but starts, in his own words, "a Crusade" in the Middle East! This is sanity? Do you make a friend by walking up to a person and punching them in the nose and then spitting on his wife? That is a sure fire way to pave the road to hell with the worst of intentions.

We, the choir, have the voices to bring about change through truth and dignity. We are a powerful choir, we sing well, and are usually in tune. This is the Choir that will return sanity to nation that has been forced into a state of perpetual fear of imaginary enemies; that have become REAL enemies.

Challenge people to come up with ONE thing that this administration has accomplished for the country in a positive manner. I will bet the farm, they will stand there slack-jawed and drooling while the few remaining synapses try to connect.

gw bush is the perfect example of what a human being should NEVER become; failure that is accepted as the norm.

11. my GOD, I'm glad I wrote my post just for that response
we should print a little leaflet with a message like that and flesh it out with some particulars of his college/military?!?/business/political resume. Detail out the failures and sum up with your great analysis of accepting failure in this country.

According to Republicans...we're supposed to apply social Darwinism and weed him out of the pack.

13. Chimpy was AWOL.
The Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America did not fullfill his military obligations. He shirked his duty when his country called. Thanks again Peter Jennings for bringing this story out.
