Plame vs. Tenet -- tomorrow's papers |
|
Assuming the mainstream press gets ahold of what www.talkingpointsmemo.com already knows, where on Page One will our esteemed editors place the possible Cheney felony story vis-a-vis Tenet's knee-bending?

2. You're right; Janet Jackson still big |

The GOP strategy? Let the Plame story die on the vine. And it will, unless there is a power struggle in the White House (which there just may be).

if he rolls over on Dick - then Dick will resign... clearing the way for Bush to pick a running mate without so much baggage.

5. Even if he doesn't, the fact that Cheney's chief of staff is indicted... |
|
.. won't bode well for the WH.
Remember, Libby was also involved in the alleged pressuring of CIA analysts re Iraq intelligence. If he is indicted in this matter, that story is sure to be brought to the fore again (and given much more credibility)... especially in light of the recent Kay admissions and the fact that whether or not Bush cooked the intel is now fair game for the press.
As for Cheney resigning and "paving the way" for a running mate with less baggage (like Guliani), I don't think that will help Bush very much. If your vice-president has to resign due to a scandal, you could appoint Jesus himself as your new running mate, and you still won't escape the tarnish from your veep going down (espoecially when everyone knows he's the one who ran things). If it gets that far, the Bush administration is toast.

8. Ironically, Tweety Bird mentioned Scooter Libby early on as a possible |
|
source. Anyone remember this? In retrospect, since Tweety was one of the recipients of the leak, wouldn't he have known who called?
At any rate, dispite Matthew's constant schizophrenic whoring, it has always seemed apparent that he personally did not like the neocons in Cheney's shop.

4. I think it may take actual indictments to do that |
|
What we now know is, they seem to be imminent.

We at DU always read the news a month or two before it makes the "news."
Our national media is pathetic and will wait until the last possible second to publicize news that the CHIEF OF STAFF for the VP may be charged with what amounts to treason.
Unless, of course, that Clinton's genitals is involved.
