A Question I would like to ask Bush*, re: gay marriage |
|
Mr. President, in your State of the Union address, you condemned "activist judges" and accused them of "redefining marriage by court order, without regard for the will of the people and their elected representatives." However, it is undeniable that it was "activist judges" who overturned segregation in Brown v. Board of Education, and that this was very much against the will of the people and their elected representatives in many areas of the nation. We now know that these "activist judges" were overturning unconscionable and un-American discrimination, and that those who stood in their way were wrong. Do you think it is possible that in the future, due to your opposition to gay marriage, you will be seen the same way we see Orval Faubus and George Wallace today?
