Conservatives driving division..

I know conservatives have tried to divide Americans over women's rights, gay rights, and civil rights...but what about agians tthe new age/pagan/wiccan population? I am not a follower of any of these faiths/beliefs but I have read that they are the fastest growing in America right now. Why are Republicans not trying to corner liberals with these people as they do other minorities? I mean, I know the tv preachers do but there isn't any real concerted effort by legislators that I have seen. However, in CA I think conservatives are treating Assemblyman Wee unfairly. They are trying to make it sound liek he is forcing people to follow Feing Shui but from what I can gather, he only wants building codes restricting it removed. Does anyone have other stories of conservative politicians attacking this group of people? I believe Bush once said that he didn't think Wicca was a religion...who is he to decide what is and isn't a religion?
