Can we all agree now McCain is a douchebag? |
|
I have made several posts to the effect of pointing out that the respect some people have here for McCain is unwarranted.
He is just as bad as the others and it really irritates me that people on our side continue to stick up for this guy who is complicit in covering up for Bush.
Can we all now agree that McCain is just as slimy as the rest of them?

7. yes, finally, I can say he is a db... |
|
At every election or some big event, he continues to "change sides". constantly talking out of both sides of his mouth...
Sad thing, cause I thought he was kinda cool for awhile.

15. I agree. He's just playing everyone. I think the guy |

is a little out of balance. He is definitely lined up behind MonkeyBalls.

2. What brought this on...did McCain do something tonight? |
|
I would agree with you that McCain is at least...a little bit off. After Bush & Rove did their number on him in 2000, I have no idea why he even speaks to them.

4. Because that's what Republicans do and it beats me. |
|
Talk about being team players when the team is pissing all over you. Darryl Issa did the same thing after they let Arnold steal the governor's election from him and yet he's still out there shilling for the GOP.

It's the media who loves McCain, and helped create the myth that he is such a great guy. He is just another Repuke.

Somedays, I hear a statement that makes me think he's going to cross over to the side of light, then I hear another statement that sounds like he's in it as deep as the rest.

McCain was on the Daily Show last week (maybe 2 weeks ago) and more or less painted Bush as a complete laughable moron while still dutifully saying he supported Bush. It was pretty damned funny. He had on a different face today when he defended Bush of "deception" in the WMD intelligence issue... it could be the case again that he's playing the role while secretly vowing to find some good dirt on Bush, but who knows. Maybe he'll find "intelligence" that convicts Cheney and then Bush will make him VP for the November run.

8. I saw that. He was on his way to NH to support *. |
|
He was funny in his apparently less than supportive support for * on The Daily Show. Maybe he knows his audience and was just being a consummate pandering politician. (That description is bipartisan.)
Yes, I like it when he bucks their party line, but in the end we know where his soul lies. Can’t trust him.

comes right down to it he sides with Bush and the Repubs in the long run.

That he talks a good game, but always votes conservative when push comes to shove. I tend to agree.

He's staked a claim to independence on some issues but in the end he's no saint. Just another tool. Seems like he's already reached conclusions, why have the commission.

11. McCain has a disgusting voting record and defends Chimpy in the end |
|
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 03:22 AM by roughsatori
every time. The people who praise him here must not follow his voting record but how the media portrays McCain--the corporate media loves him, as they do Powell, both are Chimpy supporters and apologists and deserve no praise from any Progressive.

19. Agreed. Look what he did to the Navajo here in AZ |
|
This final solution - the Navajo-Hopi Settlement Act, was sponsored by Senator John McCain. Senator McCain comes from a very wealthy family, and has some very close personal and political ties to; the mining industry (coal, uranium, etc.), the power generating industry, and at the time he sponsored this genocidal bill - he was Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs!http://www.aics.org/BM/bm.html

I was fooled. His appearance on "The Daily Show" last week was misleading, but after hearing him say he already knows the answers about the WMDs before the investigation has even begun . . . won't get fooled again.
