GOP/RNC attacks those that attack Bush Military AWOL - but no details! |
|
From the RNC:
While the Democrats stoop to new lows in attacking President Bush-and their frontrunner is exposed for blocking legislation and accepting related special interest money-the President has proposed a budget for 2005 that exercises fiscal discipline while remaining committed to fighting the War on Terror, protecting the homeland, and cutting taxes for hard-working Americans.
I expected the Democrats to distort their own records for political expediency, but I didn't think they would attack President Bush’s military service in the National Guard, and then disparage the National Guard itself.

In Kevin Phillips new book American Dynasty and I quote from page 45, "In 1972, he attached himself to another family friend, former Republican deputy national chairman James Allison Jr., in another losing effort--the Alabama U. S. Senate campaign of former postmaster general Winton M. Blount, Twenty-six years old in mid-1972, George W. was stumbling, falling far behind in his effort to walk in his father's footsteps.
At some point late in 1972, his father got him a different kind of job, working with minority children in the Professionals United for Leadership League (PULL) and organization that the elder Bush chaired. George W. seems to have stayed in this job through the summer of 1973 until he went off to Harvard Business School."
