Sunday's Meet the Press (Bush gets the whole hour) will be "special."
Try to visualize how Russert will be lobbing obsequious softball questions to the little tyrant. Try to visualize how Tim, who so ferociously cross-examines & bullies Democrats -- trying to paint them into corners to humiliate them -- will fail to ask Bush a single hard question.

No doubt, the fact that Bush is appearing on the show at all means that the White House fears that the drubbing it's taken on WMD is in danger of becoming a public laughingstock. So Russert and the White House are probably working together right at this moment, jointly preparing the "questions" and Bush's "answers."

As propaganda spectacles go, tomorrow should provide some memorable moments. :puke: :puke:

4. A special campaign message from *
The credibility of MTP has just made a nose dive.
A pre-recorded interview! As if the pre-submitted questions were not bad enough!
MTP is allowing this, once historical, program to be used as an election year tool and will be nothing more than a performance of the chimp.
The embedding of American journalism continues and the sheets are really starting to smell.

Are the really taping this today presubmitted questions?

Can someone point to a news accounting of this - I really just can't believe this to be correct?

3. Hey Russert! Ask Bush about Pakistani nuclear proliferation...
... It ties straight through to BCCI. That ties bin Laden to Bush, Big Time.

Bet Tim won't. It'll be all love, from one BFEE towel boy to another.

8. in the Oval Office, on bended knee before His Emperor
and everything all set up for Bush to refuse to answer the WMD question ("I'm waiting, with the rest of America, for the intelligence committee findings") and the AWOL question. ("I got an honorable discharge.") The Bushbots will lap it up, and it will be hailed by them as a triumph. Hard questions? Nah. What's your favorite color, Mr. President? Russert is a whore. Period.

13. Be Prepared For Massive Spin...
This thing is being built up big in Peacock land, and unless you live in ignorance bliss (still about 60%+ of the populace) you know he'll be on the show and probably watching.

I expect the softballs, like the rest of you, with lots of side-shows (remember, special means the usual format is scrapped...no other journalists) and I expect all sorts of shots of Pickles, a "day in the life" bit, some background package that will take up the first 10 minutes...all said, the actually questioning will be less than 25 minutes. I hope someone times this. I will try.

Afterwards, the GOOP media machine will play and replay it, spinning it as the chimpster reaching out to the 'Murican sheeple and various Rovian-placed soundbites that will be the lead on the evening newscasts. Then there'll be the overnights...the ratings will be big...and spun to make it look like bunnypants won some great PR battle...got his message across...(10'll get ya 20 Cliff May shows his ugly puss on CNN on Monday)...

That's where this game plays out...fortunately. If doofus looks bad, blathers campaign rhetoric or evades, everyone will know it (just like the polls after the SOTU showed)...if he lies, places like this and other now awkening media outlets will open up.

People are looking for answers to some tough questions from the manchild. How about Iraq? Was it necessary? Was this planned all along? Were we lied to? Is the CIA that screwed up? How about my job and income? What about defecits? What are you going to do about the millions of unemployed who've fallen off the roles? The list could go on, but we know Timmy won't go near any of them with any intensity.

The natives are starting to get restless...this is an attempt for this regime to "get ahead" of the story and try to manage the news cycle away from all the bashing and trashing of late. If anything, to give them cover for what they know is ahead. Unless the boy comes out with some big bombshell, the bounce will be minimal or possibly further downward.

14. I sent Russert the threads from yesterday
where we "guessed" the questions :)

I wonder if anyone read them and passed them on to him.. I sure hope so.. But in the end, he cashes that big check every pay period, and he truly does not care WHAT we think :(

15. The point will be to let the pundits declare that Bush
The point will be to let the pundits declare that Bush answered the AWOL question and no one should mention it, again.

We should watch tomorrow and write letters-to-the-editor and write reporters that we aren't satisfied that an ordinary man who went AWOL for 7-17 months would have been allowed to make up for lost time and never be punished.
