Wow! Another Republican not voting for Bush.
My grandmother has been a registered Republican for years. She voted for Bush* in 2000.

Today was her 80th birthday. She informed all of us at her birthday dinner that "there's no way in hell" she'd vote for him again. She feels betrayed by his lies as far as the war in Iraq, is dismayed about the economy, and his spending habits. Of course, the Medicare bill and the ban on drug imports from Canada are part of it as well. She feels very cheated.

What's funny is that she prefers Edwards over all of the Dem candidates. She'd vote for whoever wins the Dem nomination, but the reason she likes Edwards is because "he seems to care about the little guy." ( I wanted to ask her how she'd ever think any Repub would care about anyone, let alone the little guy, but I bit my tongue.)

She said none of her fellow retirees would be voting for him either. The tide is definitely turning. Let's just hope people feel the same after an October surprise.

2. I'm still stunned that the Republicans thought they'd be fooled
by the Medicare Bill.

4. I really gave Feinstein's office an earful
She's my senator and she voted for the Medicare bill.

I told the person who answered the phone that everybody at the senior center was mad about the bill.

3. I think a lot of seniors are onto Bush
My mother-in-law forwarded to me a copy of George Bush's resume (the one from Buzzflash that lists all of Bush's failures). She said she had received it from a friend who used to be a staunch Bush supporter.

And seniors have better voter turnout than any other age group.

7. seniors are a very savvy voting block
I imagine they haven't taken too kindly to being treated like CRAP by Bush Inc.
