The point of no return has come
There is no doubting the truth
Beneath the house
A faint odor has steadily grown
No longer can it be ignored
No longer can it be covered
With artificial means
The well concealed muck surfaces
Soiling polished shoes
Staining sacred floors
Even the laziest soul
And most vested interest
Must finally
Acknowledge the acrid stench
And the seeping sewage.
The clean up will begin
The house will be restored
But what of the the foundation?
For there lies the problem
As any renovator knows
