Daddy Matcom: "I almost chewed my tongue in half watching Bush"
Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 11:19 AM by matcom
more:

"its clear that Bush was AWOL"

"Kerry should march up on stage with his DD214, hold it high and say, "Where is YOURS Mr. President?"

"how can ANY American, even Bush supporters, think that was a good performance"

"wipe that Damned Smirk off your face when you talk of the dead soldiers you ignorant, ignorant man"

"he has a sophomoric view of the world"

"Democrats should be dancing in the streets today"

:bounce:

Dad said he didn't know whether to laugh hysterically or cry during the interview.

If that interview had that effect on your dad, I'm definitely encouraged here. He's only going to have the true believers and kool-aid drinkers left on his side.

I know they did this to boost his image. I wouldn't be surprised if his poll numbers drop even lower after this performance.

Will the MTP transcript be available somewhere?

19. I noticed that too - Diebold here we come
It's a good job I was alone in the house today, the number of times I was screaming "F*** you" and "A**hole", it would have been a tad embarrassing.
I felt like slapping that smirk off his face so many times, if the show had been live, I'm sure he would have got the vibes of hatred from us all.

9. I just read it (slept through it) "You are only showing the bad numbers"
That was part of his response to Russert actually showing him the numbers of jobs lost and the deficit and so forth. W said the above and that the economy is just fine...oh and the recession had started "as we came into office"

He must have gotten the same talking points memo as Condi, he said "danger" or "dangerous" 18 times but it's not like he pays attention to polls or they ran that through focus groups or anything.

I did actually see the last five minutes wherein he compared himself to Reagan. As Ron jr. once said "My father shits bigger than him".

The whole thing was avoid/divert blame and "IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!"

and complete BS.

for. Americans need to have their toys taken away from them. Our standard answer is "Bomb first, ask questions later" and then pay the families of the dead children, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters a buck fifty for the "oops!"

30. When confronted with the "The stock market was falling in 2k"
argument, come back with, that was only in the tech sector, not across the board like it is now. Bush could have stopped the slide, but recessions shift power from the working class to the ruling class (employers). Check out all recessions since 1960 and you will find that there was a recession in the first year of all Republican presidents. Comparing recessions between Republican and Democrat presidents you will find that recessions under Republican last longer than under Democrats.

Sorta gives us better perspective.

Many join him in confusion over whether to laugh or cry. The alledged leader of the free world is not dealing with reality. He proved that on a major TV exposure. That is a good thing. More and more people will be unable to deny the fact that he is immoral, immature, illegitment and just plain vile. But he is still in the WH and our figurehead to the world. That is a very bad thing.

The whole world is watching and waiting to see if America is gonna clean its own house. And what a mess the present tenents of 1600 Pennsylvania are leaving. One hopes the place will not have to be demolished and rebuilt from the ground up.

He was AWOL, the MPs rounded him up. The Navy just let him go rather than to bring charges against him, since he had already been in rehab twice for alcohol. But he unlike Bush* had served 7 yrs at that point and had been in during the Gulf War.

discharge. And we do know, don't we, that Bush is in possession of a DD214 that says honorable. That was certainly part of the package that Daddy Bush bought for sonny.

37. Daddy Matcom rules!!!
Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 12:40 PM by VolcanoJen
I couldn't agree with him more on the smirking while talking about flag-draped coffins. Disgusting. And something Kerry or Clark are especially well-suited to address. They should jump on it immediately. Today, in fact.

To me, Bush's biggest mistake was his answer to the final question. When Russert asked him what the biggest issue in the election would be, Chimpy McPlasticTurkeyFlightSuit responded, "Who can properly use American power in a way to make the world a better place, and who understands that the true strength of this country is the hearts and souls of American citizens?"

"Make the world a better place." Is this truly the #1 issue to Americans everywhere? And "making the world a better place" is really only code for "expect more wars," right?

I wouldn't point that out to Daddy Matcom, though. I'm worried about his tongue. :-)

God Bless Our Courageous President.........

GEORGE, you're a Son of a Bitch You're a Bastard. You're a jerk. You're a traitor and dictator.

Also a retard and an embarrassment. Your a drunken, drug addled punk. You're a sissy,
mamma's boy, and you're dumber than your daddy. You're a wimp like him too. Your mommy
must be a real Bitch to have raised up a bunch of leeches and parasites like she did. She's more of
a man than you or your dad together, and that's not a compliment!

You're a liar of the worst kind, and you're a two face liar. You are not a godly man at all, but a
hypocrite of rare distinction. you will go down in history as a failed moron like your dad, only
worse.
You've never read a real book in your life. you were an “F” student who got a “C” from your
daddy's contributions to Yale. You're a draft dodger and a deserter. You're a blowhard Prick, and
you can't understand reporter's questions. You've never had a real job, and wouldn't make it past
one month if you did have one. You'd be fired as an incompetent. You've had everything handed
to you, and you don't even appreciate what you've got. You're a snob, and an inbred effete flop.
Plus you have a stupid face. You look like an ape, and when you talk, you talk like an ape. you
don't have any real ideas in your head, and you have no knowledge of the world other than what
your told by your babysitters that your dad hired to surround you. You'd lose a debate with a 12
year old. You're vile and insipid. mundane and dim-witted. You're the dullest knife in the bush
drawer.

When god was handing out brains you thought he said trains and stood there waiting. You are
against a woman's right to choose, but you had one of your staffers pay for your girlfriends
abortion. You snorted up half of Peru and you smuggled drugs by the ton. You drank a river of
Jack Daniels and you lied about being sober.

You stole the presidency with your father's help and you skated through your whole life on your
last name. You knew 9-11 was coming and you went to hide on the pig farm to be prepared for it,
and didn't warn the victims. You let them die by the thousands and then stood there at ground
zero playing the hero. You promised you'd get the perpetrates dead or alive and then you utterly
abandoned the hunt. You are a Whore of the sleaziest kind, and you worship manna, not Jesus.
You defile the name of Christ, and you pretend to be a religious man. You know Jesus, wouldn’t'
bomb babies, but you tell the easily fooled born again that lie. You talk bad about Hitler, but it
was Hitler and your grandpa Prescott that made your family billionaires.

You took money from the bin Ladens to help your oil company and then you couldn't find oil in
Texas. You stole money from retirees and laughed all the way to the bank. You hugged the
widows of soldiers and 9-11 victim's families knowing that you could have saved them. You are a
heartless, cold, reptilian Cocksucker. You have no soul, yet you attend church and carry a bible
around. You stink, you Suck, and you make us all sick.

You will be remembered as the worst president the nation ever suffered through, and your name
will be synonymous with failure and greed and ineptitude. You have invited the world's ire, and
hatred have disgraced all the founding fathers and every citizen who ever gave their life for
democracy and liberty.

You're a confederate Asshole and a racist. You can barely hide your fear and loathing of black
people. You Pissed on the bill of rights and you Shit on the constitution. Your name will be
scraped off monuments and your statues will be toppled and broken up into gravel. You've
brought down hellfire on innocent people without so much as an apology. You now prepare to
bring suffering and agony to millions all for your billionaire, war pig pals. There is oil in your
veins instead of blood. I hope your happy George. You’re a real Son of a Bitch. Fuck you. Fuck
your dad, and Fuck your mom. Fuck your Nazi grandpa and your effeminate giddy father the CIA
monster. Fuck your brother Jeb, and Fuck your ugly wife. Fuck your whole family you have
Fucked America and now America is saying Fuck you George. Kiss my bitter patriotic Ass you
Son of a Bitch.

This does sum up my feelings to the max.

44. An expat would like to know...
I'm reading this thread from Spain and would like to know if Russert made any attempt to relate the growing terrorist threat in Iraq with the total absence of one before the war. I'm not seeing much mention of this paradox, and it seems strange that Demo candidates aren't hammering it home. Whenever Bush says he's waging war on terrorism he should be reminded that Americans - as soldiers - are more vulnerable to terrorism amid the chaos that he has created in Iraq.

48. No, Russert did not ask that
I felt like Russert gave a clever imitation of a tough interview. He would re-ask questions to make it sound like he was being tough, but they were not true follow-ups. Had it been a Democrat that was being interviewed, Russert would have raised questions exactly like that. Instead Bush was allowed to place blame elsewhere, make excuses etc.

I think it was all set up so that Russert could appear to ask questions and then Bush could be allowed to set the questions to rest. I know some Bush supporters and they watch MTP and Imus all the time and feel as if they have looked at both sides of the issues, but they always end up being reassured that Bush is their man! Maybe that was the purpose, to keep the base on board?

49. um....no.... you see here in America we no longer have a free press..
It is all corporate owned so you will never see the type of probing question you posed asked of our illustrious leader.... EVER! Tim asked a few good questions but from what I saw never followed up on any of chimpass*'s lies. So it goes here in Imperial Merica...
To his credit General Clark in his CNN interview, mentioned we are "not safer" in America today and actually worse off since the invasion.

57. I think they already have that
covered by saying it's better to fight the terrorists in Iraq than in the USA.

47. My dad should meet your dad
"Bush looked like a buffoon."

"He was ready to go to Viet Nam if his unit was called. Of course the obsolete planes they were flying would never be called into combat."

"He doesn't know where all his records are, but he would be happy if someone could find them. This guy is a disaster!"

"I don't think he even knows how stupid he is."

"His handlers, I'm sure, keep telling him how wonderful he is while they dictate the agenda."

53. It's the actual discharge paper
and it MAY or MAY not list where you served.

When I got out of the service, I had mine notorized. Most were encouraged to do so, as you can get veteran's perference for most goverment jobs.

For the record of all of your assignments, you need the full Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), which is stored on microfiche.

62. That interview made me want to cry when...
Russert asked Bush about the 540 dead soldiers and wounded. Is the Iraq war worth their lives? Bush said yes. I myself beg to differ, GW is clueless. He needs some active duty time of his own, National Guard--recall him. ;)
