The three most important things that Bush said today. |
|
As easy as it is to dismiss the guy as a moron, he said three things today that sent real chills down my spine (these are not exact quotes but pretty close):
1. I will bring more peace and freedon to the world.
To me, the message was, get ready, folks, for more Iraqs.
2. I am the person who can best use American power.
To me, the message was, get ready, folks for more Iraqs amd many more displays of American arrogance around the globe.
3. Times are changing.
To me, the message was, get ready, folks, for the end of social safety nets for elderly, children, and the poor. Prepare for the advent of serfdom in America.
That was a very, very scary interview. He is a very scary guy.

I really fear he will make sure there is some sort of 'terror' situation so that the Constitution can be suspended and he can become dictator. I worry about this as it becomes more and more apparent that the people want this moron out of the White House.

they can't wait until election time because I worry that they're going to pull something off, and get away w/ it again, and there won't be any election. There's enough evidence to have them all bounced out now, start the proceedings before it's too late.

16. I only saw clips but that was one of them. And "I'm not gonna lose." |
|
And yes, it was scary. Made me suspicious. Made me wonder not IF the fix was in, but WHAT the fix is. He said it with such certainty that it made me wonder what he's up to.

Russert: Are you prepared to lose?
President Bush: No, I'm not going to lose.

"Well, I don't plan on losing. I have got a vision for what I want to do for the country. See, I know exactly where I want to lead. I want to lead us I want to lead this world toward more peace and freedom. I want to lead this great country to work with others to change the world in positive ways, particularly as we fight the war on terror, and we got changing times here in America, too."
snip
"I know exactly where I want to lead the country. I have shown the American people I can lead. I have shown the American people I can sit here in the Oval Office when times are tough and be steady and make good decisions, and I look forward to articulating what I want to do the next four years if I'm fortunate enough to be their president."

5. Yes, scary is accurate.... |
|
he has the most successul and dangerously focused and anti-people cabal behind him and they pay him off by allowing him his delusions and revenge.
We are at the lowest point in our entire history and we all seem to believe we could go lower with or without a different President because of the people who have their thumb on our existence.
These people, this cabal, studied communisim facism nazism and took the parts that were good for their cause and made us think its democracy. The entire world has been taken in.

10. I posted this in the other thread |
|
At the beginning........
'I'm a war president. I make decisions here in the Oval Office in foreign policy matters with war on my mind. Again, I wish it wasn't true, but it is true. And the American people need to know they got a president who sees the world the way it is. And I see dangers that exist, and it's important for us to deal with them."
At the end...........
"Who can properly use American power in a way to make the world a better place, and who understands that the true strength of this country is the hearts and souls of the American citizens, who understands times are changing and how best to have policy reflect those times.
And I look forward to a good campaign. I know exactly where I want to lead the country. I have shown the American people I can lead. I have shown the American people I can sit here in the Oval Office when times are tough and be steady and make good decisions, and I look forward to articulating what I want to do the next four years if I'm fortunate enough to be their president."

the shit eating grin on his face was reply enough.
After a few minutes of grinning devilishly, he responded with "I won't comment on that."
At that moment, I would have sworn that Karl Rove was screaming in his ear piece - say "No Comment! No Comment! No Comment." Shrub was dying to say "sure, I do."

15. Remember Mad Magazine in 2000: Be worried, be very worried |
|
His cocky attitude and disregard of dissent is worrying in light of the whole BBV issues. We all scurry around (myself included) energized by the hopes of election victory. It seems rational to think that only in a hugely one sided democratic victory accross the boards can we have any security about our election process. Because only a vocal, visible democratic majority could overcome the potential for vote tampering. IMO, the known strategies of vote tampering could easily be applied in patterns that appear random and unconnected but would yield victory for the tamperers.
The other thing he said recently that I thought was scary, was his remark about stopping the congress from overspending. that was quickly dismissed and misinterpreted by the media and the statement disappeared from view. But I believe it was an important statement... I think he will stop congressional spending on all "soft" discretionary spending like public assistance, health care, social service programs, employment and training programs, etc. The clamor for increased defense and "security" spending will consume the national budget already depleted with tax giveaways to the wealthy. The destabilization of the world that is coming because of the peaking of oil and natural gas will continue to be used to justify warmongering and justify spending changes.
Pretty doom and gloom thinking. I hope I am wrong. But right now I am looking for arable land with good water upon which to build a windmill. It seems prudent.

17. What he actually said |
|
I didn't watch MTP because I can no longer stand the sight of the Evil War Chimp. Your post sounded so frightening, I went looking for a transcript and found one on washingtonpost.com. Unless it's been edited, this is what he actually said:
RUSSERT: Are you prepared to lose?
BUSH: No, I'm not going to lose.
RUSSERT: If you did, what would you do?
BUSH: Well, I don't plan on losing. I've got a vision for what I want to do for the country. See, I know exactly where I want to lead.
I want to lead us, I want to lead this world toward more peace and freedom. I want to lead this great country to work with others to change the world in positive ways, particularly as we fight the war on terror. And we got changing times here in America, too.
RUSSERT: Biggest issues in the upcoming campaign?
BUSH: Who can properly use American power in a way to make the world a better place; and who understands that the true strength of this country is the hearts and souls of the American citizens; who understands times are changing and how best to have policy reflect those times.
And I look forward to a good campaign. I know exactly where I want to lead the country. I have shown the American people I can lead. I have shown the American people I can sit here in the Oval Office when times are tough and be steady and make good decisions. And I look forward to articulating what I want to do the next four years, if I'm fortunate enough to be their president.
------------ Not to defend him, because I find him not only scary, but disgusting and despicable - in fact, it pains me that he's not in prison already - but what he actually said is a lot less scary than the way you put it. There's a big difference between "I will bring more peace and freedom to the world" and "I want to lead the world toward more peace and freedom."

19. Transcript Is Mind-Blowing, How About This Part? |
|
Russert: Will you testify before the commission?
President Bush: This commission? You know, I don't testify? I will be glad to visit with them. I will be glad to share with them knowledge. I will be glad to make recommendations, if they ask for some.
I'm interested in getting I'm interested in making sure the intelligence gathering works well.
Listen, we got some five let me let me, again, just give you a sense of where I am on the intelligence systems of America. First of all, I strongly believe the CIA is ably led by George Tenet. He comes and briefs me on a regular basis about what he and his analysts see in the world.

28. Bush is the only man to win an election by a 5-4 vote. |
|
I still refuse to qualify the name Bush with the title President unless referring to the squatter's father.
He can get every popular in November except mine and I still won't call him president. Legitimacy is like virginity. Once lost, it cannot be restored. As the whore of Babylon never was nor ever could be a virgin, the Bush Administration never was nor ever can be legitimate.
