John Warner(r) lies on CNN
Just now on CNN John Warner stated that Saddam Hussein "threw the UN inspectors out" immediately preceding the war. Note that Bush is pushing this putrid little lie lately, by saying that Saddam wouldn't allow inspectors in.
This is the lie that the pigs are pushing, it's up to you to cut'em off at the knees.
We like to call them "revisionist historians".

1. Similar to the lie about how the 2000 votes were counted
"Repeat the lie enough, and they will believe" is the GOP's (borrowed) mantra.

2. Wolf corrected him immediately saying we decided to go to war
and told the UN to get out. Warner is such a shill for the republicans and such a hawk that for the most part he just pisses me off. I just can't stand the man.

3. saw that! couldn't believe Wolf remembered he's a "journalist"
BUT, WTF was up with LEVIN?

WHY on EARTH didn't he mention that Saddam completely caved in the weeks before the invasion, offering unfettered, complete access to EVERYthing, but was reBUKED?

that didn't get much publicity, but it's out there, and Levin didn't even MENTION that.

stunning lapse.

Dems should be trumpteting that one, as it PROVES another lie, that * clearly didn't go to war as a last resort.

7. Warner was in Iraq last summer, saying "I don't see no morale problem"
Three months later, Stars and Stripes came out with a morale review that said that a third of troops in Iraq interviewed thought we'd entered Iraq for the wrong reasons, and nearly a half didn't plan to reenlist.

If it weren't for that he was married to Elizabeth Taylor, he'd be a nobody.

6. This really should not be the question.
The question should be, what did the president do with whatever info that the CIA gave them. I believe that they hyped them. Tenet said that the CIA never said the danger was iminent...so the question remains: why did we go to war????????

10. The questions are almost always loaded, and unworthy of response
Though, in this case, it would be a little gratifying to think that most viewers believe that the onus is on Bush, not on the much maligned scapegoated CIA.

8. another asinine question, worded to give aid and comfort to the junta
it SHOULD have been worded to reflect the use of information given them; the maniupulation thereof.

OR, how bout: Did the 'pResdient' midLEAD the public with the intellignece data he provided to US?

and how sick of this crap about Bush being a victim of those he put in place to proVIDE him this information?

not like he was FORCED to used this data by some mysterious supernatural entity.

how does he ALWAYS get off by blaming EVERYthing on somebody ELSE?

the media NEVER call him on this.....

how bout some sort of ad conflating him with Harry Truman?

buck buck to bawk bawk as Truman morphs to *.

12. Vote can be read two different ways
Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 01:39 PM by truhavoc
First by voting yes, there are those that could read it being a mandate for Bush to "protect the homeland" based on the knowledge he knew. But the way I see it is that the CIA did provide adequate information with significant qualifiers, but that the administration chose to not only ignore but to hype the contrary. Does anyone else see this distinction?

11. If you liked that you must have loved George Will
He stated with on "This Week" that "in every way and every count Bush was increasing his lead over Gore in the investigation of Florida's 2000 election results."

Lies. The words of Will and Warner are typical of the Publican enablers and shills.

13. not exactly....he used one report by USA Today or somebody
and said that by their recounting, he'd have tripled his margin.

Edwards countered him fairly effectively by saying that had they just allowed all the votes to be counted, and had the EXTREME court (me saying EXCOTUS) kept out of it, Gore'd have one.

he COULD have been firmer on the point, but, then he hasn't been hanging out at DU, or read Greg Palast (or talked to Chris Sautter), so he didn't have the details at his fingertips

BTW, Cokie Roberts was IMMENSELY more bootlickingly whorish than Will today.....I even heard her almost moaning an assent (off camera) to some ridiculously proBush statement.

she said some things herself that were SO beyond the pale (can't remember, other than wanting to vomit) that I had to pinch self to see that I wasn't having some sort of fever dream

14. I thought Wolf did a good job today too
Unbelievable that Warner made the many statements he did today.

Of course I had to watch on my second tv after the threw the first one across the room with Warners first lie......
