The line from MTP that should loose the election for W |
|
"And… but I will continue to work hard to unite the country. I don't speak ill of anybody in the process here. I think if you went back and looked at my comments, you will see I don't attack. I don't hold up people. I talk about what I believe in, and I lead, and maybe perhaps I believe so strongly in what we are doing around the world or doing here at home"
How many lies can be packed into one sentence?

Russert: Are you prepared to lose?
President Bush: No, I'm not going to lose.
Russert: If you did, what would you do?
President Bush: Well, I don't plan on losing.

8. Pundits: * saying " I will not lose" was a mistake |
|
I already heard one pundit say that the correct answer would have been: "The people will decide"
A little too cocky - the voters will have a say in this.

Didn't he keep saying in 2000 that he "trusted the people?"
Of course, in the end, he didn't trust the people of Florida; he put his trust in the traitorous Anton Scalia.

5. Ok, I don't know how many people have this tapped |

I have it on tivo, and if you fast forward to about the 22nd minute of the interview, you can kind of see dubya get all hyper and crazy for a second. This is what scared me to death! If only the media would distort that and play it over and over.

I don't have the exact quotes, but one was the part where he said he sits in the Oval Office all day thinking about war. The other was where Russert asked him what would be the central issue of the campaign and he said it would be about using America power to change the world.
It would be soooo easy for any Democratic candidate to hammer hard on domestic issues -- jobs, health insurance and Medicare, the deficit -- and then end every ad, "But Bush thinks changing the world is more important than fixing the problems we have right here." Or "But Bush would rather spend all day thinking about war than spend five minutes thinking about the needs of ordinary Americans."
I really hope they do it.

That could be really powerfull stuff. Show a picture of ordinary Americans struggling to pay for food/rent/perscriptions.. flash to Bush in the Oval office thinking about war/changing the world. (maybe images of the Iraqi war with American soldiers getting injured/killed superimposed behind him) Flash back to ordinary Americans.... then have a voice over with those quotes. It could be really powerfull stuff.
Though on second thought something that good could produce a media backlash as being really negative.

12. I like: "this economy is going along just right" |
|
ABSOLUTELY STELLAR campaign line for the Dems. Here's what he really thinks, guys. Your layoffs are "going along just right." All this unemployment is "going along just right." The widening gap between the haves and have nots "is going along just right." The further enrichment of the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and poor "is going along just right."
I hope they rub this in his face forever and ever and ever and ever!!
