OK a question about gays and gay rights |
|
Who cares if a person is gay or not? I am heterosexual and most certainly don't want people in my bedroom wondering about our sex life. It is a private thing between my wife and I, and will remain that way. And if two gays get together then its none of my business what they are doing in the bedroom. As long as there are no laws being broken(outside of the antiquated sodomy laws), then it really shouldn't matter, just as it doesn't matter when a man and woman get together. Gays, straights, we should all have equal rights under the law, but to me, I just don't care if a person is gay, straight, white, black, a little green guy from Mars, it just doesn't matter. As long as a person is trying to be a law abiding citizen, raise the children to know right from wrong, pays taxes, etc., then what the hell is the problem? End of rant.

Do you support gays rights such as gay marriage and same-sex benefits??
I wish more people thoguht the way you do--not caring what people do. But the fact is people do care and the gay community is being discriminated against.

it doesn't matter to me. If a gay couple wants to get married, who am I to stand in their way? If one person falls ill, then they should be entitled to health insurance, etc. I actually had a son out of wedlock, so for someone like me to rage against a gay marriage would be hypocritical and I won't do it.

3. Good. Glad you think this way. |

From the original message I didn't really see your thought process about gay marriage. I'm glad you're not one of those people who say "Oh gays could do whatever they want, it's not our business but I don't think they should get married." I dislike people like that.

5. gay rights in Louisville |
|
In Louisville, Kentucky, opponents of civil rights (nondiscrimination in employment) for gay people kept saying they had the same rights as heterosexuals, that they didn't need "special" protection. Several times, the ordinance was introduced and voted down (7 to 5). But then a woman who worked for a local Baptist-run charity was found out to be a lesbian by her employer (she was mentioned in a newspaper article). It was, undeniably, discrimination simply because she was a lesbian -- she never intended to make her personal life an issue at work, and her erstwhile employer stated so directly. The lesbian had no legal recourse. The next time the ordinance came up for a vote, it passed.
