DNC Chairman's Statement on George W. Bush's Meet The Press Interview
Washington, D.C. — According to the President this morning, the intelligence was okay on Iraq, the economy is going well and everything that's gone wrong — massive deficits, a failed plan in Iraq and millions of jobs lost — are all someone else's fault.
"President Bush's nervous performance is understandable, considering what he has to defend," Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe said Sunday. "His record consists of a failed policy in Iraq initiated by hyped intelligence and an economic policy that has wiped out more than two million jobs. This so-called fiscal conservative has taken more than a $2 trillion surplus to a $521 billion deficit. The President's foreign policy is a shipwreck, the economy is on a downward skid, and government finances are in ruins. Considering the President's recent dropping approval ratings, it looks like the American people are nervous too."
