Airwaves Of Change: Mancow On Bunnypants (NOT A Fan)
Scanning the radio dial this morning (most the Viacom-owned stations were blathering on about the Grammies/Janet garbage), I caught a few tidbits of Mancow Muller.

For those who aren't "fortunate"...Mancow has been called a Stern wannabe and appears regularly on the Faux Morning circus. He was extremely outspoken against Clinton (still is) and was very pro invading Iraq and did a lot to push the Iraq/Al Queda/9-11 lie. But looks like that's changing.

In the few minutes I caught, Mancow mentioned he had seen the MTP interview and how embarassed he was about *'s performance. He said he was in a hotel with closed captions he couldn't turn off and noticed that the scrawl on the screen cleaned up a lot of bunnypant's stammers and mispronunciations...Mancow went on to say that if you had the sound down, this guy sounded like Clinton (don't know what to make of that crack). He went on to say how this had to be tied to the manchild's falling poll numbers and how he couldn't string three sentences together. Then came the Mancow spin...(he's a big "Black Helicopter" type)...

He predicted (as others have here) some type of LIHOP/MIHOP event in the near future. He didn't say anything in specific, and attempted to predicate his remarks on just his "gut feeling", but the essence was the he wouldn't be surprised that this regime would stand back if another attack happened, and may even have had their hands on 9/11 as well. He mentioned some report somewhere about Mohammed Atta having contact with RoveCo. regime officials (anyone know what this is about?). Then he said "Bush hasn't begun to fight"...in very ominous tones.

Here was a guy who worshiped this regime 6 months ago and seems to be catching the "buzz" that a lot of people feel they've been had (I get and see that comment a lot from Repugnicans) and that bashing this regime is starting to be "cool".

Again just a wind...but a little warm air on a cold day is a good thing.

1. Ahh, thetalk show mavens have read the tea leaves
and they know that this house of cards they helped build is going to collapse. Expect more of them to start talking out of the other side of their mouths. They want to keep their jobs in a post-* world.

2. This guy sounds like a true mediawhore
Remember the term applies to whoring their beliefs for ratings which equal money.

I was surprised that Peggy Noonan "damned with faint praise" dubya's appearance on MTP. She usually gushes over anything republican.

You may be right. It may become fashionable to bash bush on the airwaves......I hope you're right.

3. Did you notice...
The rise of Bushbashing in the general media coincides with the rise of Kerry?

4. Yep...
How conveeeeeenient! Christ, do these arseholes think people are blind, deaf, and dumb?

Well, yes, they do. They're wrong. I hope that the coming Dem president tears them all a new one--it's way overdue.

6. i hate mancow!!
he used to be on rock 103.5 in chicago for years and would complain about how much q101 sucked blah blah blah. and then he disappears off the air and suddenly hes on q101 and acts like nothing happened. this happened just after he became syndicated.

of course this is before i realised he was a republican shill asshole. buy my initial loathing comes from leaving rock 103.5.

7. Hello fellow Chicagoan...
I heard him on Q101 this morning (not my station...trust me...Limp Biskit and Linkin Park don't play well with almost 50 year old shattered eardrums)...and remember, very well his start here in town on the old Rock 103.5, then his jump to Q101.

But then that was a business thing...Mancow was offered a lot of money, a guaranteed deal in a more stable company (Rock 103.5 is long gone) and one can't blame someone for making the move. In retrospect it was a good thing.

He's always played the outrageous...and is like a Dahl/Stern for a different generation...being crazy and outrageous. This led to the right wing, macho crap that he got into (also that he targets the Male 18-34 audience).

The above posts stating that he's a media whore is exactly my point and glad to see how many also are seeing/hearing what I am.

Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 10:25 AM by veganwitch
yeah. he must have known that the station was going down because it was gone about 2 months after he started on q101. alot of the djs went to q101 so the music did improve slightly. rock 103.5 was the best station in chicago. im not in the area often but ive yet to find a good rock station there anymore. corporate radio sucks anyway. now i just listen to c-span.

9. I almost listened...
This morning but I thought better of it.
He was great in the 103.5 days and still funny back in the beginning of his Q101 days.
I finally gave him up in '00 when he couldn't just entertain anymore without a Bill/Hil diatribe in between segments... :puke:

When I have tuned in lately, he was still the big * cheerleader...
Now you are telling me he has seen the light?

I'll believe it when I see it.
