Bush's Moon Space Weapons Race

Another post stated that India and Israel were combining to go to the Moon. Wasn't this wonderful. It ain't. Why?

It's a space race for weapons from above to control and kill us.

1. Scarry Shit

This is scarry shit. It could lead to "orbital winter".

Basically, if you have enough space junk flying around up there, it will destroy ALL the satellites in orbit.

A set of K-Sats blowing each other up is EXACTLY the trigger that could make orbit COMPLETELY unusable.

2. Where are the moon weapons?

The "Rods from God" seem like a pretty cool idea.

Although I definately would not call them that since its likely to piss off god by us thinking that we are as cool as he is.

I've always thought that using more concrete (or even solid steel) bombs are a good thing. Less having to worry about collateral damage and there wont be any scavaging of our duds by the enemy to use against us.

3. I watched Noam Chomsky

on C-Span2 the other night and he was talking about the militarization of space. I know other DUers have posted about it too. The whole thing really makes me sick. When Clinton was in office, the policy was to control space. Now that * is in, the policy is to OWN space. Like we own space! I can only imagine the conflicts and wars that this is going to cause.
