I have recently seen the postings re: the fundamentalistic evangelical idea that the end is near and a select group will be whisked away to heaven or some such place. The great mass of humanity will be left to suffer some sort of retribution the fundies claim are due. Now if I am not wrong this presents us with a very serious security issue. If any of these people are engaged in any important job where their absence or "disappearance" could create a problem, should they not be required to resign so as not to threaten the lives of others. An example of an airline pilot comes to mind, or possibly the president of a large country. Is it not our civic duty to ferret out these "chosen ones" and have them await their rewards at home or under some protective custody? If they truly believe in their version of the reality is it not their responsibility to inform the rest of us and get out of harms way? Now this would be a way for the "homeland security kops" under Ridge to show us how much they really care.
