3. all DU'ers should be watching this !!! (C-Span1 resumes at 10:05)
i think the session is in recess until around 10:05 pm eastern time ...

there was a great line in one of the MASH episodes where Hawkeye asked this army guy in a jeep "Where's the front ??" As bombs exploded around them, the guy responded: "You're standing on it !!"

what's going on at the Massachusetts constitutional convention is civil rights history in the making ... and thanks to C-Span, everyone can watch it unfold in real time ... it's "Must See TV" ...

that last woman who spoke was incredible ... i think her name was Rep. Malia ... unlike the background chatter and noise you could hear while all the other speakers addressed the legislature, when she spoke you could hear a pin drop ...

when this started out last night, i was certain they would reach some type of minimalist compromise on civil unions ... many of the proposed amendments said something like "marriage is only between one man and one woman but we might consider allowing civil unions ..."

but now it seems like there's been some movement towards letting the court ruling stand ... it seems like the progressives came in thinking they would have to compromise, but now they can see the possibility that Massachusetts really will allow gay marriage ...

on the dark side, the bush bigots are going to have a field day with this ...

4. Kick
it's amazing-a couple of Mass REPUBLICANS want the court decision to stand, thus allowing gay marriage.
