Is Novak being sacrificed by the BFEE? |
|
snip.. Two government officials have told the FBI that conservative columnist Robert Novack was asked specifically not to publish the name of undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame....
Hmm..this is absolutely contrary to his version..is this little lamb being sacrificed? Too bad...

2. No "official" in their right mind |
|
would supply the name of a covert operative to a *ahem* journalist, especially one who has the reputation of a leaker.
This is a diversion, and yes, an attempt to scapegoat the errand boy while those who actually committed treason, sit back and tut-tut the irresponsible media while John Ashcroft covers all their asses.

4. My, my. That certainly squares with the reporter |
|
(who was it? Can't remember) who said he/she had been told Valerie was "fair game," doesn't it?
Wonder what Novak will do now. Will he speak? If the sources are now known to the investigators, there is no further justification for maintaining silence, is there?

6. Good point. I think Cokie Roberts and Tweety both passed on the |

info. Novack is in a pickle and I bet he will sing like a bird.
Divide and conquer..that's the ticket..bring all the players in one by one and see how all the lies suddenly pile up..and are seen for exactly what they are

It was interesting to see the Prince Of Darkness do an anti-RoveCo piece in the papers the other day (gist: the propaganda machine in OUR White House is not controlling the media like it had), but hinted that things will turn around; using the usual right wing fear of terror and the "booming economy" (where??) that will win the day.
While Novak and Tweety and others may say publicly they'll protect their sources, one wonders how they will react given a grant of immunity or allowed to "speak out of school"...saving their bacons.
It's obvious these "scribes" have huge egos and a special self-importance that drives a self-preservation mechanism (see Rush Limbaugh) when they get in trouble. Novak can be the fall guy here, but looks like the investigation is further down the road already.
I was very impressed with the way Fitzgerald went after George Ryan here in Illinois (Indictment), and runs a very professional shop. This might be real trouble to RoveCo.

5. So let me get this right. . . |
|
They leaked the name to an unauthorized party without security clearances (which is classifiable as treason), but are saying it's okay to do so because they told the guy not to say anything?
