Highway Bill a ploy/gift to Bush?
There have been lots of jabs at el-shruberino by Kerry and others regarding the fact that he has yet to veto a spending bill -- bolstering the argument that * is a cut-tax and spend pResident, and not fiscally conservative at all.

Coincidentally... Bush is about to be delivered a Highway bill that got enough GOP support to pass 76-21 so Shrub can veto it with camera's flashing all around his empty little head.

How convenient that he'll soon have a spending veto under his belt -- or am I just thinking too much into this, politically?

You are correct. Expect to see more spending vetos this election year. Do you really think he is going to increase the funding for the Arts?

2. Maybe this is how they're going to "buy" jobs

The house of Dubya raised their estimate to 3.? million jobs for 2004, so maybe they just plan on using Gov't $$ to hire them all. How very conservative of them..

"Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist also said conservative estimates are that the bill will create 1.6 million jobs over its lifetime."
