Not your father's "miserable failure" post - a twist (please read!)
I love junk stores. I've purchased a whole political (and sci-fi, if the two are not the same) library, sometimes at the low, low, LOW price of seventeen cents per book (6 for a dollar on half-price Mondays).

Perused the slim book: The Candidates 1980: Where They Stand. Published by the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research.

Here's what it has to say on page 20, with George H.W. Bush answering a question:

"And I will correct the incredible failure of the Carter administration to create a working strategic petroleum reserve - our most effective insurance against oil blackmail."

Gee, didn't the Republicans claim that we liberals/Democrats were the ones who came up with original attack of a "miserable failure" when describing Junior?
