Nightline might be good tonight: US Blew Attempt To Turn Al Qaeda agent |
We have learned that the U.S. government attempted to turn a man they believe was an al Qaeda agent into a U.S. informant. However, the plan was blown when news of Mohammed Warsame's arrest was leaked to the local press. Recently unsealed court documents claim that Warsame attended al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan in 2001, including one personally run by Osama bin Laden. Pierre Thomas is covering this intriguing story tonight.

1. You need to Freep the Headline |
Whenever something bad happened during the Clinton Administration, it had to appear that it was caused by Bill himself.
Ergo: Bush Blew Attempt To Turn Al Qaeda agent

3. Because his arrest was broadcast he couldn't be an infiltrator. |
Al Qaeda would know he'd been with US authorities and they'd suspect him. If his arrest was kept quiet, he could have presumably been released and infiltrated and provided data.
