Terry McAuliffe to be in Portland, OR Monday |
|
For anyone interested, this was an email I received from the Democratic Party of Oregon
SUBJECT: Come Meet DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe in Portland this Monday!
Please join Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe, Oregon AFL-CIO President Tim Nesbitt and Oregon Labor Commissioner Dan Gardner this Monday, February 16th for a roundtable discussion focusing on the state of Oregon jobs and the economy. Oregon is a battleground state in the presidential election and we need to demonstrate to Chairman McAuliffe that Democrats and labor are united and organized to win. Please make every effort to participate.
WHEN: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH
TIME: 6 PM
PLACE: AFSCME Headquarters
5TH Floor Conference Room 123 NE 3rd Ave. Portland, OR 97232
INFO: 503-224-8200
RSVP: Info@dpo.org
Democrats know that the true measure of economic recovery is job creation and thriving middle-class, working families. George Bush has abandoned middle class workers and Oregon has lost over 50,000 jobs, including many workers who have run out of unemployment benefits. The time is now to get involved because taking back the White House for America’s workers starts right here in Oregon.
Please contact the Democratic Party of Oregon with any questions (503) 224-8200.

I live about a mile from there. My family is an AFSCME family. In that very building I have phone banked to support various Democratic causes, but I won't be there this time. This is nothing but a bunch of rhetoric.
Terry McAuliffe lost us the elections in 2002. Any elections won by Democrats here in Oregon are in spite of the local and national Democratic machine's lack of support. McAuliffe and the DNC dems are the problem, not the solution.
Until the Democratic Party both locally and nationally decides to quit fucking over everyone who isn't a Clinton supporter, I will no longer lend my efforts.
This crap is why the Green Party did so well in Oregon.
They abandoned Peter Buckley and Bill Bradbury in the 2002 election, and have done NOTHING while the Republican party anti-tax mob has completely highjacked Oregon politics. The governor, Kulongoski, who I supported in 2002, hasn't done anything. If I'm wrong, Xantha, please tell me what Ted has accomplished so far. I know a lot of other Democrats and Greens who feel the same way.
Thanks a pile, Terry, but you can go to hell if you want my support.
For now, no thanks.
It's a little late now, don't you think?
