Ready for the GOP Smear Machine to Kick into Action? |
|
- Some Democrats may think they have Bush* up against the ropes on several issues...but they should keep on their guard and expect an onslaught of anti-Democratic rhetoric and a surge of pro-Bush* propaganda in the American media.
- As we approach the 2004 election...keep in mind that the Bushies will do literally anything to stay in power. They will use character assassination and dirty politics while accusing their opponents of 'trolling for trash'. (Projection)
- Democrats MUST not try to approach this election like they did in 2000 by giving the Bushies the benefit of doubt. Those in power got there through illegal / devious means and they're not above breaking the law again to keep what they have stolen.
- Like in 2000...Bush* won't have to get his own hands dirty...depending on the dozens of RWing Talking Heads and the GOP Smear Machine to spread vicious rumors and lies about anyone on the left who gets in their way.
- This time we're going to have to fight for Democracy. It's up to us.

And the Democratic party is telling half of us (the real liberals) to sit down and shut up.
2004 will be just like 2002 - the left will be slaughtered. John Kerry will be a re-run of Max Cleland, with Cleland standing by his side.

7. Don't listen when people tell you to 'shut up'... |
|
...As an American...you have every right (and duty) to speak out or give your opinion.
- It doesn't have to be a 'slaughter'...especially if we continue to fight back against the attackers.

16. When you have no voice, you can fulfill your 'duty' all day long |
|
and have no impact.
Even here, at DU, we'll be told to sit down and shut up soon. The discussion we're having right now won't be allowed. Our voices will be silenced.

2. any bush campaign is filthy - they have a real |

thing for white candidates having black babies. Present bush was responsible for the "clinton has a black baby" in bush1 election. Of course that's just the tip of the iceberg for them

5. That's what I've been saying |
|
but nobody seems to remember the night this place was just to collectively hang itself, and was arguing over the wording of the suicide note in Justice/Public Safety.
We got our asses handed to us in 2002, after spending months yammering on about how the election was in the bag for us :eyes:

6. And they all try to pretend it never happened |
|
Setting the citizens up for a repeat.
Compare the images:
Max Cleland/Saxby Chambliss
John Kerry/George Bush
Chambliss is the Senator, not Cleland.......we're headed for a re-run of 2002 because of the Democratic party.

8. But many of us have learned to fight back... |
|
...Just look at how much damage the AWOL issue has caused for Bush*. This is because WE and a few in the media won't let it drop until the whole truth is known.
- We need to take this same approach on the decidedly more important issues of 9-11 and the Bush* lies that drove this nation into unnecessary war.

9. AWOL is just a diversion from the REAL issues |
|
Look who brought AWOL back to the forefront - McAwful. For the simple purpose of getting the REAL issues out of the headlines - the 911 Commission, the Iraq "investigation," Halliburton, all the things which SHOULD matter.
AWOL is being discussed by "permission" - nothing more.

10. I agree that AWOL is little more than a distraction... |
|
...although it may have discredited Bush* in the eyes of many in the military.
- But our biggest problem seems to be Bush's* use of NATIONALISM to prevent certain subjects from being discussed in an open forum. He veils everything in secrecy and says he can't talk about it for 'reasons of national security'.
- Our party can't be part of this false patriotism BS. Bush* is encouraging war profiteering and has absolutely no evidence that America is 'safer' because he's in charge.

Our party can't be part of this false patriotism BS. Bush* is encouraging war profiteering and has absolutely no evidence that America is 'safer' because he's in charge.
Hell, the presumed candidate voted FOR every piece of legislation enshrining the patriotism BS in law.
Do you honestly think they won't play the "well, you voted FOR it" ploy?
Do you honestly think they won't play the "he votes WITH the (p)resident so why not go for a REAL republican instead of the fake one" ploy?
Like I said, a re-run of the Chambliss/Cleland campaign. It worked then, it will work in 2004.

12. Watch it happen - the setup is in place |
|
Let's not forget what has been happening all week. Scott McClellan, the (p)resident's spokesman, has been telling the press all week - "ask the campaign those questions, we won't talk about the election here" and then, here comes Gillespie saying "I don't speak for the (p)resident."
In other words, NO ONE is going to discuss it. Mission accomplished. Diversion over. Press whores declare "no story."

14. Definitely a pattern... |
|
...and a repeat of the 2000 campaign/election. Bush* is insulated by so many layers that he never has to answer for his actions or his own words.
- We have had nearly four years of warnings and ample time for preparation. If the Bushies are able to successfully attack us this time without rebuttal...then perhaps we 'deserve' to lose?
- We have to fight the good fight...or expect another four years of the worse president in American history.

I hadn't made that connection yet. I will watch that unfold now Sad.
They aren't going to answer anything. I don't think it will work, W has to go out to the people he can't run for POTUS from the Oval Office and Dick has to come out he can't just speak at AEI.

22. I guess this isn't a real popular message... |
|
...for Democrats. They must know they're going to get their asses kicked again...but few within the party machine are organizing any kind of counter attack.
- Perhaps it WILL take another Bush* 'win' before we all come together and kick their asses right back?
