Russert - "Why are we all smiling?"
Edited on Sun Feb-15-04 03:29 PM by bigskydem
to end MTP today, Russert and his banter band looked so giddy, it seemed like a table of ten-year olds bursting into Chuck E Cheese.

His final comment? "Why are we all smiling?"

Why the Euphoria? They can smell the green from a tight race.

I would love to see a landslide of BLUE in NOV.

edit - typo

Russert isnt paid on commission after all. I tend to agree with them.

Close race makes it interesting.

3. Hang on, the Blue Revolution is coming in Nov
The Pubs are super scared. Watch for Ads that attact rather than explain. Watch for ads that espouse WEDGE issues. Pubs know how to manipulate with distortion and deception. They have fooled people in the past and will continue tomorrow.

But some people, enough we hope, have gotten the message that the Pubs are not all cracked up as they claim to be. They have smelled and tasted the strong Truth Coffee. The wedge issues are starting to look like the divisive issues they really are. Counter productive to the larger picture. The Pubs want and need these wedge issues to continue. Its to their advantage. But its so counter productive, so divisive that it hinders progress.

Damn

4. absolutement!
vous avez raison, mon cher!

anyway, isn't it interesting that they're pushing, out of the box, the conflict of interest button?????????

how insane is that?

and, instead of the national defense/patriot chauvinism, they're hitting the marriage bit HARD, as well as TV sleaze, lowering of morals

they're scared, BIGTIME, and they're definitely off their game, cause they planned on using the same tactic against the dems as they did against Dukakis, vis a vis wrapping poppy in flag/ACLU/pledge of allegiance.

they'll probably try this, too, but their opening salvo really surprised me.

6. This struck me as more of SCLM's "It's all about ME" syndrome
Russert has a woodie for this race because it looks apt to provide him and fellow media whores countless opportunities to play-act serious journalism, put on their disapproving, solemn faces and do their faux-gravitas schtick in front of the camera.

I found this morning's remark by Russert to be revealing and disgusting; reporting the news is not about what is happening in reality, or dispassionate debate of the issues, it's about how both of the former can be spun and twisted into dramatic acting opportunities for Timmy and gang.

God, he's revolting.

7. too true
it really IS all about them and their OBSCENE salaries/connections/power by association

and how come nobody's discussing Eleanor Clift's adamant assertion that MTP EDITED OUT the worst of dumbo's gaffes last week?

huh?

9. I may get flamed for this
but I like Tim Russert. I believe he is among the fairest journalists, & MTP always makes news. When serious people
are debating the great issues of the day, MTP is usually involved.
Last weeks appearance by Shrub was a disaster; even the Right Wingers
are disgusted by his poor performance. Russert was polite, & didn't outwardly go after Bush as hard as he does to others, but if you go back & look at the show, you can see how he makes Bush look like a fool. And the more you look at the clips, the worse Bush looks.

14. You will.
Russert was hand-picked by the GE Chair Jack Welch because he kissed up to Welch so well and did as he was told by Welch.

You can bet your booty that the freepers are hopping mad about Timmy's smile. And their e-mails are going out at a record pace.
