Republican Internet Advertising has Begun....
Right smack in the middle of Newgrounds.com...I hope they spend all of their money on it.

1. Damn, I visit Newgrounds at least once a day.
Great site... but I suppose they have to pay the bills to.

2. This mentions the President. Not legal according to 527 rules.
Edited on Sun Feb-15-04 06:59 PM by mouse7
You can't say "the President" and not have it count against the 527 limits. There is only one President. Leaving his last name out does not make the ad legal for use in voter registration drives.

I don't know if you knew that Dob Bole, but you found an illegal ad. Nice catch.

5. Supposedly the FEC, but I'd call the DNC or Kerry Campaign
The FEC isn't exactly showing itself quick to respond to GOP violations at the present time.

The best way to do it is to get everything prepared in an e-mail before you call. When you call, and get ahold of someone who could intelligently analyze the ad content (someone higher than a volunteer... an intern would do), just type in the person's e-mail address, send it, and confirm they recieve it before you hang up.

8. I read through section 527 on CF laws and found it very vague
can someone post the text that shows this to be a violation

9. Any lawyers on?
(Sorry, was off for a while after leaving work.)

I don't know anything about 527 rules, but I think the DNC would be the people to contact about this. I doubt the Kerry campaign would want to bring it up right now, and the FEC would do nothing.

3. This is the perfect waste of *'s war chest
I am going to venture that mostly good humored free thinkers view new grounds not your run of the mill bushbots.

11. You have a point....
That's pretty much what it looked like. Maybe we should forward the link to the religious right instead.
