(Arizona) House votes to revoke licenses of businesses that hire illegals
PHOENIX — Rejecting claims of ruin from business interests, the House Committee on Commerce and Military Affairs voted 8-4 Monday to yank the state licenses of companies that hire people not in this country legally.

The action came despite the claims by attorney David Selden who said HB 2448 would be the equivalent of imposing a death sentence on Arizona businesses who might run afoul of federal immigration laws. Selden, who lobbies for the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, said a better alternative to dealing with the problem of illegal immigration would be to enact a guest worker program.

No Wal-Marts? Make the hotels hire people at full wages?

That's just what Arizona needs! :toast:

So typical that the Chamber of Commerce cheap labor conservapukes were against this.

4. This is how to do it
Please don't tell me a business doesn't know that somebody willing to work for half the going rate isn't illegal. It's about time our legal citizens are held responsible to follow our laws. If every state enacted laws like this, the "illegal" problem would be resolved in a couple of months.

5. Imprison owners.. THAT would stop it
Revoking the license and potentially shutting the business down only hurts the employees who are there legally, and the owner will just re-incorporate under a family member's name..

My husband worked for a guy once who had declared bankruptcy so many times he was running out of relatives :eyes:..

These guys must spend some time in the "Gray Bar Hotel"..6 months for each undocumented worker ought to do it... and no pawning it off on the HR person.. The atmosphere of a company is set by the CEO..

7. "claims of ruin from business interests"
the usual whine; they said that when Teddy attacked monopolies, they said that when Sinclair reported on rat droppings in sausage, they said that when the New Deal started, they said that when Carson came along, they said that when Clinton's anti-Reaganomics budget was passed, etc., etc.
