The Log Cabin Republicans are finally waking up...
While not revealing his sources to the Washington Blade, Carl Schmid admitted he spoke this week with Marc Racicot, chair of the Bush-Cheney 2004 re-election committee, and Ken Mehlman, the Bush campaign manager, telling both of them, "I would not be out there drumming up support for the president in the gay community if he does this."

1. And when the Log Cabin Republicans get in Rove's face, he turns and says
"Smithers, release the hounds!"

They are taken just as seriously by the Republicans as we Democrats take the LaRouchies...Not at all....

2. A gay person seeking acceptance from the GOP
is akin to a black person seeking acceptance from the klan. The existence of the log cabin republicans would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

9. That made me think of Al Rantell
There is a gay conservative talk-show host out here in SoCal named Al Rantell. Now, I know there are gay people that are conservative on some issues, but this guy is hardcore opposed to gay marriage!! He talks about it like it's some kind of affront to American values...and he's gay!! He even got mad at a politician named Mark Lano for supporting civil unions! I just don't understand people like that.....

3. Reminds me of something Jesse Jackson once said.
At least I think it was Jackson. In 1972 there was a black democratic delegate from texas pledged to george wallace who placed his own name in nomination for VP (I am not making this up!).

Jackson said that any black man who's committed to wallace clearly doesn't know who the enemy is.

I think the same could well be said of any gay republican without fear of a great deal of contridiction.

4. equal is equal or it's not
It's a little late for the LCR's to be figuring this out. However, they're welcome to stand in line with me on our way to the gas chamber.

And I will be SO "I told you so" all the way.

If that sounds harsh (and it is) the LCR spokesperson didn't say he would NOT cast his vote for *. They need to join us all in our fight to toss this despot or they are still just misguided morons.

5. And how many homosexuals will we lose when we have won?
How many Homosexuals are closet freepers? Probably just as many as any other minority that the democrats fight for.

7. Can you please clarify what you mean?
I don't understand what it is you are actually saying. It can be taken a few different ways, so could you elaborate please?

8. That's right. It's human nature.
Once a group is safe and sound they lose some measure of common cause.

That isn't a characteristic of someone else, it is everybody; you and I included. It's only a matter of degree.

There will be more Andrew Sullivans around should gay marriage become public policy. It's one of the prices of progressive success.

6. I'm sorry, but the LCR can go **** themselves.
This is still not good enough. Not by a long shot!

"I would not be out there drumming up support for the president in the gay community if he does this."

IF he does this? How about turning your back on the repukes right this second for INTRODUCING it into Congress and the Senate in the first place?

The log cabin queers are in such denial. Think with their wallets, not their brains!
