Another take on TANG-gate, need some help |
|
We all know that shrubbie's dad pulled strings to get him into the TANG as well as commissioned at a record pace. He also got into flight training with a very low score after which the Government (taxpayers) paid an estimated $1,000,000 to train him. Meanwhile some poor schmuck was sent to nam in his place.
We also know that later on he did not take his physical and lost his flight status. A question occurred to me, had he even completed flight training when he was grounded? Did he ever ONCE fly a mission and perform the duty for which we paid such a stiff price to train him for? Could not that money have been better spent on troops in the field or on someone who would actually at some point reward us with the talents we trained them for?
If you look at it this way, Clinton did more for the war effort than the boy king did because at least he did not leech resources away from more important priorities. Hell, if I paid a tenth of that cost to train an employee and then he "quit" I'd sue!! Essentially, bush* quit the job he was so expensively trained for.
Anyone know the timeline vis a vis his grounding and completion of flight school? Any pilots out there familiar with the process?

used the F-102 to fly "plants" from Florida to Texas.. Remember his "argicultural business" that he worked for??
I have often wondered if that was the precipitous event that "caused him to lose interest" in flying..
I cannot imagine that the Guard approved of his extra-curricular use of a government plane..
And just what WERE those "plants".. Remember the drug culture that was just getting going back then....
I think he was disciplined for doing that and THAT was why he wanted a transfer.. Remember , he had no "friends" , so it would not surprise me if some fellow pilots ratted him out .. :tinfoilhat:

2. Maybe we should ask for the expense to be repaid? |
|
If he truly had integrity and dignity he would volunteer to repay it without being asked.

I am more trying to point out that he was entrusted with valuable training and then quit on his duty rather than I am concerned about the money.
