The Rightwing are in full Panic Mode.
From outragous, slanderous books calling decorated war heroes who happen to be Democrats - treasonous or stupid, to flat out denial of the facts slapping them square in the face about Iraq, the economy, healthcare, "intelligence failures", stonewalled 9/11 commissions, outed CIA agents and an AWOL, Vietnam-dodging Commander-in-Chief.

They are reeling back on their heels and they are feeling the pressure of a strong front-running Dem pointing the finger at this administration.

This election in November is the Democrats' to lose.

Hell, in 2000 Bush didn't win the plurality of the votes and that was with Florida not allowing a segment of African-American voters to the polls.

The country isd much more polarized now as a result of this clowns policies.

6. Peace loving people can only take so much
and this is way fucking too much. I'm not turning a cheek this time. We are like the minutemen, fighting for our freedom from the oppressive regime. Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Franklin would implore us to resist these murdering thugs. We are the true patriots, and don't let the slime merchants break your spirit.

11. No, don't push
Instead when they push, we PULL. And throw them. Use their own hypocracy and momentum AGAINST them. THAT is the best way to beat a foe is to use their own strength to kill them.

15. You have to speak to them in a language they can understand.
A bully only knows pushing and shoving and terrorizing. He/she doesn't know quite what to do if that intimidation doesn't work, but, by contrast, is shoved back in his/her face. That sends the bully running for cover. Because what's actually been done in this case is to expose the bully for what he/she really is - a coward.

They hit us with the side of their hand? We hit 'em back with the side of a 2x4. They punch us in the nose? We kick 'em in the groin. Hit back and hit back HARD. That's another thing about a bully. The bully doesn't expect to be called on his/her bullshit. A bully counts on your being intimidated by his/her bully act. Note the root word "bull" in both bully and bullshit. Seems fitting to me!

I know this works because I've actually stood up to one or two bullies in my life. You do that, and you send the bully running for cover with his/her tail between the legs. It's like shining a light on a next of cockroaches. They can't stand it, and they scatter in all directions. What you do NOT do is cower, capitulate, or run for cover yourself. Then the bully only sees you as an easy mark, and keeps targeting you.

The Dems ARE fighting back. And note, if you will, the timbre of the media focus. Suddenly seems like at least a few in the media have started asking questions again. Suddenly we're seeing stories about "right wing in disarray," "republi-CONS running scared," "panic setting in," and other such portrayals. I don't think it's any accident at all. They just wither when confronted. Too bad our folks weren't doing that a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGG time ago. We could have headed off a lot of this shit.

10. 2002, heck, I don't want to look like a Repuke the day after
election 1998.

When they had a collective soiling of themselves, and had to hurriedly convene Congress to get the impeachment vote on, instead of the "easy slide" they thought they would have after January 3, 1999. (They expected plenty of seats gained in the House, and hoped for enough for the supermajority in the Senate - They lost ground in the House and Senate!)

12. During a conference call
last night (@a Dean House Party) a woman asked the Dr about the rabid RW attack on homosexuals in general. In the course of his reply he alluded 2 the radical right wing being more like a cult than a political philosophy.

We're gonna need a multitude of de-programmers if this country is ever going 2 B civil.

20. That ain't the half of it.

The years 1982-1986 marked the period Pat Robertson and radio and televangelists urgently broadcast appeals that rallied Christian followers to accept a new political religion that would turn millions of Christians into an army of political operatives. It was the period when the militant church raised itself from centuries of sleep and once again eyed power.

At the time, most Americans were completely unaware of the militant agenda being preached on a daily basis across the breadth and width of America. Although it was called “Christianity” it can barely be recognized as Christian. It in fact was and is a wolf parading in sheep’s clothing: It was and is a political scheme to take over the government of the United States and then turn that government into an aggressor nation that will forcibly establish the United States as the ruling empire of the twenty-first century. It is subversive, seditious, secretive, and dangerous.<9>

Dominionism is a natural if unintended extension of Social Darwinism and is frequently called “Christian Reconstructionism.” Its doctrines are shocking to ordinary Christian believers and to most Americans. Journalist Frederick Clarkson, who has written extensively on the subject, warned in 1994 that Dominionism “seeks to replace democracy with a theocratic elite that would govern by imposing their interpretation of ‘Biblical Law.’” He described the ulterior motive of Dominionism is to eliminate “…labor unions, civil rights laws, and public schools.” Clarkson then describes the creation of new classes of citizens:

“Women would be generally relegated to hearth and home. Insufficiently Christian men would be denied citizenship, perhaps executed. So severe is this theocracy that it would extend capital punishment to blasphemy, heresy, adultery, and homosexuality.”

14. When did the Rethugs ever have a majority?
Oct. Surprise (circa '68,'80, probably in '88), Watergate dirty tricks for '72......

Just who the fuck are these guys? How do they get away with it?

P.S. In '88 apparently Dukasis's campaign suffered a fund shortage going into the home stretch because their banker BCCI (not as notorious then as now) cut funding. But don't quote me on this.

17. The voting "irregularities" didn't just take place in Florida...
...several states closed polls early with people still waiting to vote. It was reported in several states that the police harrassed voters into staying away from the polls. Those same states reported polls being moved at the last moment with no notification other than where the people could go (usually some distance away) to vote.
