is bush* re-inventing himself?
during the 2000 campaign - the GOP charge about Gore was that he was re-inventing himself

during the same campaign - bush claimed to be the "education president", later he wanted to be the "environment president"

he screwed up on education, he screwed up on the environment

Now, he claims to be the "war president" - and he's screwing that up too...

what persona will he claim to be next? The jobs president, health-care president?

no matter to me - I just want him to be called the EX-president

2. The Bush family is adept at reinventing itself
W went from a hard drinking, hard partying frat boy to a Christ loving "family" man (even though he must not have been too strict a parent considering how wild his kids are reported to be)

W went from an East Coast prep school educated aristocrat to a Texas good ole boy...

The trouble is that he gets by with it so often.

4. Father did the same to get on ticket with Reagan.
Face it Bush will do anything to win. These people may not play around with women but they have no values about any thing else. Watch your pocketbook.

5. He does not know who he is
he thinks he is the world's greatest leader--and I heard Colin Powell the other day, testifying to the budget committee that indeed, Bush is admired by many countries in the world--so says Colin , eyes soft with admiration for his serial killer boss.

Not only does he reinvent himself to fit whatever situation he thinks he needs to bullshit us about, but now Laura is also being reinvented.

she has suddenly emerged from protection and become an exquisite, brilliant politician,:puke: also admired by all as she broke out of her endearing shyness to become an enthusiastic stumper for her serial killer boss. <sarcasm>

I am so tired of this phoney couple.

6. yep
The fact that he was booed by the "NASCAR dads" and that he was surprised about it shows how terribly out of touch he is.

I agree that he doesn't know who he is. He's an invented person, all the way. Defined by others, used by others, there consequently is no "self."
