Helen Thomas asks about communtiy service.....PULL? live now
Scotty will not dignify question with answer, calls it a rumor.

didn't Bush himself talk about PULL service in his autobiography?

doesn't Helen know that, therefore, shouldn't she have come back to him on that?

anybody else see this

Live press conference on now at CSPN II

1. next two questions about economy
John Roberts asks whether Bush's own people believe their forecasts regarding jobs.

Scotty says jobs being created now, numbers are growing, dems will raise taxes

Stretch asks if job number estimate was vetted by admin.....Scotty won't answer question, over and over

just like the AWOL questions.....repeats talking points.

Gregory is giving it to him about estimate, won't let go; asking him why the president won't stand behind the 2.6 mil estimate now.

WHY was the number release?

Gregory says EVERYbody watching KNOWS you're not answering the question.

Scotty: I disagree. Next question

not the topic I want, but VERY funny exchange

2. About that 2.6 Million...
What happened to the 3.8 Million jobs they "revised" their guesstimate to?

Did they realize that that many jobs, along with weapons of mass destruction, are just another GOP myth that they couldn't keep pushing?

4. PULL was the community service that poppy allegedly got dumbo
hooked up with in 72

others contend he was SENTENCE to it by a judge before whom he appeared, charged with some sort of drug abuse (coke?)

this ties in with the AWOL thing; where he was, and why, during 72--Alabama, Texas, or where?

all the questions seem to be on the economy; mostly jobs

not one word on AWOL so far

6. snip on PULL controversy here:
| A new book by Texas author J.H. Hatfield claims that George
W. Bush was arrested for cocaine possession in 1972, but had his record expunged with help from his family's political connections. In an afterword to his book "Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the Making of an American President" (St. Martin's), Hatfield says he took a second look at the Bush cocaine allegations after a story in Salon reporting allegations that Bush did community service for the crime at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Houston's Third Ward.

The center's executive director, Madgelean Bush (no relation to George W. Bush), had told Salon News and others that Bush did not do community service there, and the Bush campaign likewise denied the allegation. But the Texas governor had admitted to working at Houston's Project P.U.L.L. in 1972, and Hatfield says he began to wonder if that was actually the community service sentence. Hatfield says he confirmed those suspicions with three sources close to the Bush family he had cultivated while writing his biography, which publishes Wednesday.

Bush's campaign denied Hatfield's allegation Monday.

By contrast, "First Son: George W. Bush and the Family Dynasty," by Dallas Morning News reporter Bill Minutaglio, says George Bush Sr. referred his son to Project P.U.L.L. after an incident in which George W. drove drunk with his younger brother Marvin in the car.

But Hatfield quotes "a high-ranking advisor to Bush" who confirmed that Bush was arrested for cocaine possession in Houston in 1972, and had the record expunged by a judge who was "a fellow Republican and elected official" who helped Bush get off "with a little community service at a minority youth center instead of having to pick cotton on a Texas prison farm."

5. Go, Helen Go!
Why won't he just answer the damn question? IF Junior never had to do community service just say so! Bush* volunteering time to help kids is so out of character it is a legitimate question. Their refusal to answer a simple question tells me that there might be something to the story.

7. his community service was NEVER an issue!
Scotty REALLY stepped in it bigtime here, right?

he made the entire IDEA of community service sound like it came straight from Hatfield, where it's not subject to argument. see above link.

11. I don't understand...
..their sudden evasion on this topic, when it was openly admitted in his biography (written by Hughes) that he spent time working with youths in Houston.

9. Well with Scotty's stalling and tap dancing all around on this issue
should any Media Whores (not including Helen Thomas in that group by any means) who find they've unexpectedly grown a backbone will know where to concentrate their search in seeking out the explanation for Dubya's missing months. Yeah frat boy Dubya in between snorting lines of coke and boozing it up at parties got so tore up at the plight of those poor black and hispanic kids that he couldn't sleep nights till he did something to help them out. What an absolute crock of shit they are trying to peddle. How can even the freepers be so dumb as to beleive that crap?

13. Rove decides daily I assume
If his office makes the call, they air it.

If they don't call, they talk about Michael Jackson and Martha.

Pathetically, it's probably really that simple.

12. This adminsitration has balls
They dismiss everything as a lie or a rumor, they arrogantly parade around one "witness" who contradicts everything they have said but still supports their main claim, and they release poorly copied, impossible to read "records" that only prove that Bush got paid...
