Halliburton calls in Bush lawyer
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/business/articles/timid74437?source=

"HALLIBURTON, US Vice President Dick Cheney's old company, battling against perceptions that it is too close to the White House, has hired a law firm previously used by the Bush family to conduct an investigation into allegations of illegal payments on Cheney's watch.

Halliburton has appointed Baker Botts to conduct the investigation into $180m (£95m) in illegal payments between 1995 and 2002 in connection with the construction of a $4.9bn gas plant in Nigeria. Cheney was Halliburton's chief executive at the time.

The Baker of the law firm's name is James Baker, former-Secretary of State under George Bush Senior. The firm's lawyer, James Doty, also acted for George W Bush when he bought a stake in the Texas Rangers basketball team in the 1980s. ..."

4. That wouldn't be the same Baker Botts that is
defending the Saudi Royal family in a suite filed by the families of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, now would it? Wow, what a surprise.

The destruction of the world as we know it. -- brought to you by The Bush Crime Family.

5. Yep, specifically the "Phantom flight" Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz
..........Now fast forward about a year and a half and imagine my surprise last week when I read a "Newsweek web exclusive <<http://stacks.msnbc.com/news/901320.asp?cp1=1> >" that reported that Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz - THE VERY SAME defense minister of Saudi Arabia - is being sued on the behalf of the victims of 9-11 for his alleged role in the financing of groups suspected to have links to the terrorist attacks of 9-11!
"Wow," I thought, "wasn't this the SAME Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz who had the kid on the Phantom flight?"
After further checking, I discovered that - yes, my friends - they are one and the same!
According to the Newsweek article, when three attorneys from the "prestigious Houston firm" that represents Sultan bin Abdul Aziz filed a motion in court in the Prince's defense, they also inadvertently provided evidence in the form of "stacks of affidavits and canceled checks" that indicated that the Prince had personally authorized the funneling of millions of dollars on the behalf of Saudi Arabian government to organizations that the US has identified and raided as terrorist front operations sympathetic to Osama Bin Laden.

7. Imagine if all you had for reading material was
the mainstream newspapers. You couldn't put any of this together.

8. This is unacceptable!
This is an absolute outrage. This should not be allowed to be happening. How much more of this shit do we have to swallow whole?

Good God, the audacity of this bunch never ceases to amaze me, and the apathy involved in our acceptance and letting them get away with it, astounds me more.

One of these days, I'm sure I will cease to be "shocked and/or awed".

Baker and Botts should be thoroughly investigated and then permanently shut down. Straight line to Poppy and Cheney. MF'ers!

GD, GD, GD!
