I Agree With Dean That First We Must Stop Bush, Then organize change
Congrats to Dr. Dean for having performed a BACKBONE TRANSPLANT on the Democratic Party and John Kerry in particular!

The announcement today was very smart. Dean will get planks in the platform on the war and healthcare and on campaign reform and use the list and the Internet to organize communities around the country for more progressive change on every level.

But first, he said:

"We must do whatever it takes to get rid of George W. Bush."

That means voting for the Dem nominee in the General Election, be it Edwards or Kerry.

Let's send as many Progessive Delegates as possible to Boston but then we must vote for the Dem in the General and stop Bush from using voting machines and the Patriot Act from destroying our democracy.

Once we've secured that, then we move on to years of work and change and WE CAN DO IT!

I agree with Dean.

1. I've always agreed with Dean
I just didn't like him as my candidate (I liked Gephardt.) But I fully appreciate everything he's done for this party. He was exactly what we needed at exactly the right time.

3. Read Joe Conason's NY Observer article of August 2002.

His observation was that Kerry was the only one showing courage against Bush, but, he also mentions that the media rarely noted it. It was too substantively critical of Bush in a damaging way.

The media DID, however, allow Dean the mic and the stage and turned up the volume. His critiques were more entertainment than actual damage to Bush.

4. I never saw it either from kerry.
He tends to copy Dean for the message and platform to go after *bush. Lets see how he does without Dean showing him the path.
