How are Homeland Security Dollars Being Spent?
This tidbit is from a home paper. Anyone else have examples of dollars going down the rathole... These projects ARE NOT Homeland Security...

===============================================================

...Brown's staff is working with U.S. Rep. John Mica, R-Winter Park - who also represents portions of Putnam - on getting federal funding for the county's roads, Martinelli said. Sometimes, though, Congress' efforts are stymied by the Florida DOT, he said.
"I think we need to play more hardball with DOT," Martinelli said. "They should be more flexible. Their attorneys tell them they can't do this or that. They say, 'Our hands are tied by federal regulations.'"
For now, federal funding for Putnam's highways is coming from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, he said, and Brown's staff is lobbying that department as hard as it can.

These are ugly guys. I have a theory that many of these Neo Cons were not well liked by girls when they were young. Now, they are trying to prove their manhood..power, etc.

They are nothing but lying, fat cats (oops John doesn't like cats).

Give they time...they will be fighing each other for more power. Will they have to die for what they know in the end?

2. I know where they are saving money.
The US Coast Guard hired an H-1b dependent contractor to do the IT work for their financial system. This means they don't require a security clearance for someone who has more computer privileges than a Coast Guard employee and can determine the base location of major assets such as ships, small boats, cutters and airplanes.

The Coast Guard used to be under Dept of Transportation, now it is under Homeland Security.

"The US Coast Guard hired an H-1b dependent contractor to do the IT work for their financial system."

What to see how they can divert the money to their bank account?

They are trying to destroy our Civil Service System. Their friends get big bucks...our bucks.

It's corruption. Crony capitalism. This is illegal in times of war. Even our court system has betrayed us.

8. The H-1b company underbid the company I was working for.
The money was going to be spent on contractors, It couldn't go offshore, so it went H-1b.

With access to asset information, IMHO they should have required a background check.

4. HS is a farce...and a way to steal.
None of the agency heads will tell Congress where they are spending our bucks. It's OK...it's top secret. I got a bridge I can sell them... Congress you're idiots and thugs.

They care less about our safety and health. They are incompetant.

I suggested volunteer programs like the Civil Defence of WWII but got not answers..even from my Progressive governor. What goes here? Block captians, emergency center for minor injuries and information, etc. What's so hard about that?

They want us to live in fear...all the time. If we got active to protect ourselves we might be able to stop their tyranny..would we not?
