should we be concerned with Kerry's statements regarding the construction of a national gas line and drilling on the Alaskan shelf. I want someone that is committed to renewable energy sources, not on oil. Thanks

2. well you might place that against his record

He does, as I understand it, have a pretty good environmental record. But he can't be a one issue candidate or president. And like it or not our economy is based on oil; if he comes into office promising that as a nation we will go cold turkey the effect on the economy would be enormous.

He will have to work on two fronts; 1) making sure that the oil companies don't screw us, and making sure oil is provided in a fashion that causes minimal environmental damage 2) pushing ahead into implementing renewable energy sources to wean the united states off of oil as much as possible.

That's my take anyway.

3. I am very much in favor of a natural gas pipeline and so is the entire

Democratic delegation. Natural gas is good and Alaska has a huge abundance of it. It is clean burning and environmentally smart. It would provide many jobs and a positive effect on the world.
