4. A question for Austin DUers --
-- Is this rumor about Gov. Perry true? Are there any reliable sources to back it up?

I don't want Perry to suffer for a gay relationship, but I want the issue removed from the Right's arsenal.

This was Dubya's hand-picked cabinet in Texas, wasn't it?

5. Repubs may want him to come out so they can say....
... "See. We don't hate gays! Some of our best friends are gay!"

It allows them to push the divisive issue of gay marriage and (somewhat) hide the fact that they are generally a homophobic lot.

6. Hmm. Hadn't considered that angle before.
It's complicated down there in Austin, isn't it -- one of the Texas blogs has put up some info, but it's not worded as strongly as it could be.

Call me a shameless gossip, but I want to know what's happening.
