National disasters happen every year. Does it affect the economy? |
|
I don't perceive 9/11 to be that much different than a natural disaster that occurs somewhere in the US every year. Sure it was man made but it was still a disaster. No president has ever stood on a podium and blamed his mis management of the economy on a hurricane, earthquake or other disaster.
There is no reason why 9/11 should have brought down the economy as this admin says it has. If anything, the rebuilding would have been a boom for the economy. Yet, Bush Co. blame everything from Clinton's penis to 9/11 for their lack of competence.
When will they take responsibility for their actions? When will they stop blaming the heavens for their mis-fortunes? When will they see the error of their ways and change direction? The answer, never. A liar, cheat and thief will never admit to their sins, just as this administration refuses to do so.
It's time to put a responsible grown up in control, this guy has no credibility left. He is grossly incompetent.

3. What's really disgusting is |
|
How the Republicans capitalized on this tragic disaster to push through their hateful and oppressive agenda. They truly are a distasteful bunch.

Money is lost in people not wanting to travel in this case and it other it is the same. Awful weather and people do not vacation in Maine in the summer. Same all over on things like that.Usually it does not last long but with Bush yapping about saving us from terrorists and the increase in world terrorist because of Bush's War I bet travel is down all over the world.

6. I was in the 89 earthquake in San Francisco. |

people didn't stop coming to the Bay Area because there might be another EarthQuake. Instead of healing the nation, Bush and the Republicans have been picing at the wound of 9/11 just to help them achieve their whacked out agenda.
it is not 9/11 that hurt this economy, it's the bush tax structure and the republican capitalization on fear that has hurt this economy. I am unemployed and can't afford four more years of unemployment. I'll be homeless well before then, but Im betting Bush could care less about my troubles that he has caused.

The "broken window" affect actually INCREASES economic activity from clean up efforts and replacement of damaged homes and goods. I have do doubt that the terrorist attacks put a nix on lower manhatten business activity for a few days. The airline industry was ALSO hit hard with travelers skeptical of flying.
However, all those cleanup dollars had to go SOMEWHERE???? Didn't we just spend $87 billion on Iraq. Don't they hire Americans and buy new Humvees, body armor, food, etc... with that money????
My bottom line is that poor economies are caused by the wealth stratification. The more money you place in the hands of the wealthy, the less money the lower middle class have to make discretionary purchases. Those purchases are what drives our consumer economy, not leer jets and 200 ft yachts.

It's not 9/11 or the boogey man that has hurt our economy, it's Bush and his trickle down economics that is ruining the US.
