Bush's visit to England / £4m bill to guard Bush
Official details seen by the Evening Standard show that more than 11,000 police officers were dedicated to protecting the American President during his four-day stay last November.

Full details of the drain on the Met's resources has reignited criticism of Mr Bush's visit, which saw the tightest-ever security imposed on central London.

Even then Mr Bush came into contact with no members of the public and hardly ventured into the open.

On top of the financial cost, muggings across London rose by 20 per cent as thousands of officers were moved from their regular beats. It also emerged that the ring of steel thrown around the Docklands for Europe's biggest arms fair just weeks before Mr Bush's visit cost four times more than initially thought - with Scotland Yard's total bill topping £4.4 million.

2. What an awesome waste
I am a happy contributor to the paranoia, chatting up the danger to bush on every forum i frequent.... nobody buys fear of terrorism like the salesman himself... and he fucked the public out of 4 mil... ha! As bush* has made clear himself, this is war, and i am "against" him, so the best path is to drain him and his supporters of as much money defending themselves from nothing as possible. Then they get bankrupt and lose. What fools.

As blair touched bush's hand in welcome, that bomb went off in the turkish british embassy, symbolizing the facture between arab peoples and europe along the historally significant turkish border with the west.

That 4 mil is added to undisclosed millions in security for all the bush visits to sedgefield, london and the nonsense of his massive security detail.

I'm glad it cost a few million. The people who spent that money are unworthy to govern, and as they flush the public goodwill down the fear president toilet, surely the public starts to wonder....

FUCK YOU BUSH! If a terrorist had shot you badly, and i was nearby with medical attention, i would walk away and offer you the solice of 10,000 dead civilian you murdered.... When the treasury is bankrupt and all the powers you wield are nullified, then we'll be done... and until then mr. bush turd... you're gonna spend a fortune to protect yourself from nothing. :-) Too bad i'm not a violent terrorist, or the scumbag would already be dead. To presume that the opponents of his regime are only violent is a gross miscalculation... America has to go down with its criminals... a
regrettable rule of karma.
