Bill before senate to repeal law which prevents people from copyrighting |
|
names, birthdates, death dates, etc. Someone has crossed Orrin Hatch's palm with silver again. If this new bill allows Who's Who and others to copyright this data all the most popular websites (Political Graveyard, Internet Movie Database, et al.) will go the way of Napster. For more details go to politicalgraveyard.com and click on 'news' on the homepage. If it does pass I'm going to copyright my name and other personal data.

2. Sorry, Orrin off hook on this one. |

Should have looked at item again before posting. The House Judiciary Committee has sent the bill to the floor. Orrin Hatch is the epitome of evil to me so anytime I hear something like this I think of him. There's a list of the Republican sponsers on the cnet.com article. What gets me is that the Chamber of Commerce is against this bill and it went to the House anyway!
