So WHEN will Dems bring E-Voting Hazards to the forefront? |
|
When this question was posed numerous times last year, I kept hearing that the issue would receive much more attention THIS year. But I've barely heard a peep about this from the front runners, and have become exceedingly uneasy that there doesn't seem to be any significant concern going into primary as well as presidential elections. What's up with that?

Gotta keep something in store if all else fails.

4. I know. But it's getting about as much attention as Kucinich is from |
|
both the media, the other candidates and the Dem party.

Go there, read it and do your thing. Pass it along, have your friends go do the same. You do not have to support DK for president but use the site to get started. Support him with this. I would not at all be suprised if this is one thing he works on if he does not get the nomination. He has already brought it up in the debates, has worked with Bev Harris on this, published the documents that Diebold was shutting down web sites for and helped win that fight. Go do it. and pass it along.

5. I think we all have to admit |
|
that this issue is NOT going to be addressed by the Democratic party. They want to enjoy the ability to pre-determine the results just like the Republicans do. If they deny the ability to the (R)s they deny it to themselves as well.
Only people like Dennis Kucinich are not afraid to run a true election, leaving the decision to the voters. The rest want a sure thing.

The game is more than one side.
Kerry may not be an accident- look how far behind he was going into the primaries.
Two things at work here: Media, and "favorable" elections.
Kerry isn't going to upset the apple cart.
Bush Co. will wait for the next opportunity.
Factions in both parties benefit. I don't think it's everyone in each party at all.
If the Greens could get Nader to not run, but get on the voting issue, he'd redeem himself big time and revisit what made him a treasure in the past. Something corny like, "Unsafe at any baud rate."
Libertarians should get on the issue.
If those two parties made it their platform, then the top two would have to start paying some uncomfortable attention.
