Feb. 18 — For the first time, first lady Laura Bush is speaking out on the controversy surrounding the president's service in the National Guard decades ago — before she met him.


She says she's absolutely certain her husband was fulfilling his duty at the time "because he told me he was. And the records had been shown. He wouldn't have gotten an honorable discharge if he hadn't pulled his duty," she said in an exclusive interview with ABCNEWS.


She's not concerned about her husband's declining poll numbers.

"I think part of the reason he has is because the Democrats have just spent over $100 million campaigning," she said. "And their main campaign issues have been to beat George Bush. That's all they really talked about."

They keep repeating this like the Stepford wives, over and over. But guess what? I got BOOTED out of the military with an honorable discharge because I was gay. I only served 2 years and 9 months of my 4 year enlistment. It was up to the commander what I got, no hard and fast rules whatsoever.

For a variety of reasons these guys got busted (weed, theft, DUI, etc.) they got an Article 15 did extra duty lost pay and then got honorable discharges.

What gives this non-entity any credibility to speak on any issue? I wouldn't say this of Jackie Kennedy or Rosalyn Carter or even a Lady Bird Johnson or Betty Ford...these were women who showed their own intelligence and added to their husband's presidency in a positive manner.

Pickles represents the Mamie Eisenhower/Pat Nixon era...the "mate" who is shown when required and speaks only when spoken to. Even Nancy Raygun and Babs Bushbot at least demonstrated some independence and earned respect of even critics. Laura Stepford is a disgrace...dismissed within her own hive as an equal partner and seeking approval by enabling their egos and agendas.

Just like her dimbulb husband, Mrs. Bushbot II's popularity is a mile wide and a milimeter thin. Her statements are Page 6 material and interviews are filler and non events. She also lives in a world (that appears to appeal to a large segment of RW women) where living in a sharply regimented and defined world with no expectations or growth is their life's ambition.
