Gloves are off!!! Ahhhh, Never mind! Nader's insignifacant!!!!
A long, long time ago I put a whole lot of significance in everything Ralph Nader. I took on the Greens that supported him and dissed Ralph and his ego at every turn. ohhh, and I'm sure I made some enemies with the 2 or 3 Greens and Naderites here at DU. I've mellowed a bit....

As an American, Ralph Nader has a right to run for President. PERIOD!

But this time it is different. The Romance has faded off of Ralph's stone. Ralph once said that it has to get worse before it gets better.
Well I bet you this,,,not even Ralph's most fervent followers could ever imagine how bad it would get. So what's Ralph’s mantra this time... It has to get doubly worse before it gets better?

If Ralph runs, (IF) and if he runs as an independent, I suspect he'll get very little support and I suspect he'll take far fewer votes from the Democratic nominee than he did in 2000.

And one more thing.... Folks yell that we need every vote we can get to beat Dubya and Rove,,,,,, Me-Thinks that the Dems will win in a landslide!

"Gloves are off" has always been an inspirational call to battle. The Green hypocrites will never forget it.

It will never die. It will always live in the Pantheon of great DU quotes.

It is eternal. We must take off these F*****n gloves to knock the bejeesus out of Bush - every day.

Today Bush wants to call flipping burgers a manufacturing job.
Yesterday it was backing off forecasted job numbers.
The day before it was 400 pages unrelated to Bush AWOL.

Tommorrow it will be something else...

Gloves filled with lead are on..

Anyway, disgruntled Repukes will vote for Nader this time. Great!

2. Yah...that first Gloves are Off thread sure brought some heated passion.

Please note how the passion for Ralph Nader has diminished from 2002 to 2004. The only reason Mr. Nader will run as an Independent is because the Greens don't want him. How times have changed....

3. Bush has to go down!
At this point, i will back the candidate (i'm guessing that will be Kerry) that has the most chance of beating bush...even if it is the lesser of two evils.

5. Removing Bush is only the first step...
there are many others to take to restore a govt. of the people, for the people and by the people! But without this first step, all others are moot... short of a mass awakening and peaceful revolution ...

4. I agree
And I hope we win in a landslide, too.

Everything is just too screwed up right now...

6. Locking
Rules to start discussion threads in the General Discussion forum.

1. If you start a thread in the General Discussion forum, you must present your opinion in a manner that is not inflammatory, which respects differences in opinion, and which is likely to lead to respectful discussion rather than flaming. Some examples of things which should generally be avoided are: unnecessarily hot rhetoric, nicknames for prominent Democrats or their supporters, broad-brush statements about groups of people, single-sentence "drive-by" thread topics, etc.

2. The subject line of a discussion thread must accurately reflect the actual content of the message.

3. The subject line of a discussion thread may not include profanity or swear words, even if words or letters are replaced by asterisks, dashes, or abbreviations.

4. The subject line and the entire text of the message which starts the thread may not include excessive capitalization, or excessive punctuation.

5. If you post an article or other published content which is from a conservative source or which expresses a traditionally conservative viewpoint, you must state your opinion about the piece and/or the issues it raises.

6. You may not start a new discussion thread in order to continue a current or recent flame war from another thread. The moderators have the authority to lock threads in order to contain flaming on a particular topic to only one thread at a time.

7. Discussion topics that mention any or all of the Democratic presidential primary candidates are not permitted in the General Discussion forum, and instead must be posted in the General Discussion: 2004 Primary forum.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
DU moderator
