Bin Laden on ice...
Just waiting for * to give the order to get him.........what do you folks think? A 4th of July gift to the nation? or sometime else?

Snip

"The claim is attributed to "a well-placed intelligence source" in Washington, who is quoted as saying: "He (bin Laden) is boxed in."

The paper says the hostile terrain makes an all-out conventional military assault impossible. The plan to capture him would depend on a "grab-him-and-go" style operation.

"US helicopters already sited on the Afghanistan border will swoop in to extricate him," the newspaper says. It claims bin Laden and his men "sleep in caves or out in the open. The area is swept by fierce snow storms howling down from the 10,000ft-high mountain peaks. Donkeys are the only transport."

The special forces are "absolutely confident" there is no escape for bin Laden, and are awaiting the order to go in and get him.

"The timing of that order will ultimately depend on President Bush," the paper says. "Capturing bin Laden will certainly be a huge help for him as he gets ready for the election."

24. we pay the price by letting Pakistan sell nukes around the world?
This is so fucked up.

Pakistan tells us they've got Bin Laden, please don't be too hard on them for setting up their little nuke emporium.

Bush, who needs the poll numbers, agrees. We won't punish Musharef in exchange for OBL.

Is Bush a threat to the world, or WHAT?

3. If he's actually still out there
and not already in custody somewhere, waiting to be brought out, then I doubt he will be taken alive. This guy knows exactly what's in store for him if caught.

26. Furthermore, it'd be something he might appreciate - becoming a martyr
to his followers. It might be another one of those Pyrrhic victories. We get him, but his exalted martyr status winds up sticking it to us in a really bad way. Nobody wins. Except, he hopes, george.

4. To be expected....
they're prepping the sheeple for the next "big capture". He will
be "captured" or another staged "terrorist event" will take his
place.
Shrub needs another boost that will crown him perpetual president.

Its too bad really...because nobody sees the other consequences, i.e,
after OBL is "captured", then the "war on terrorism" is "over"...

8. Let's start a poll! What day wil Osama be "captured"??
My day is Oct. 27, just before the election, as the Saddam bounce lasted about a week.

Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 12:24 PM by Mari333
what if the Rove machine stages a fake asassination attempt on Bu*sh and blames it on the Left ? I put nothing past these guys. It would garner them the sympathy vote and make the left look bad..I think they are desperate, and would use anything at this point to gain photo op sound bytes from the sheeple who still dont read or look for the truth. I dont trust anything they do or say, I just see these staged photo ops and most people see right thru them.
edit for ageing process and lousy spelling due to menopausal angst.

I think the "box" was about 600 miles square, but still, it was a box.

14. OBL will be "captured" on the second day of the
Democratic convention. Modus operandi for Rove.

Candidates usually get a big boost during their convention because they have the limelight. BushCo will make sure the Democratic nominee doesn't ever see that light.

16. Why wouldn't Democrats jump all over the hypocrisy?
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI

"...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county . Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availablity with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

There has been a Republican senator that proudly proclaimed that OBL will be caught before the elections. Why can't, assuming our theorys turn out to be true, the Democrats jump all over Bush for using him as an elective tool? The hawkish neo-cons would, then, jump on liberals and act like we said it wasn't a good thing that he was caught. Hopefully they'll make it an issue.

18. I think they really want to wait until they're right next to the election
and will if at all possible to drag out obl, if, they do have him. That being said, the moron's* numbers are dropping like a rock, even fake news has him at 48 right now, and there is a long time until November.
With dropping numbers, falling popularity, they may not be able to wait to bring him out.
Two things are sure to happen this year, st. ronnie will begin his dirtnap, and obl will be captured. They have nothing else, positively absolutely nothing else.

20. My bet is on this summer. Right in the middle of the DNC
like Ambushed said, it's SO republican to do something like that. Is terrorism going to disappear? Because so far, we HAVE saddam and soldiers are STILL getting killed. And it just goes to say the al queda nuts are far more organized and sophisticated than the saddam pushers. OBL is one of many, many "masterminds" out there. We talk of bin laden as if he is the end all. puleese. one down, 5,000 more "heads" to go. I've had enough of the shameless exploitation of 9/11. The American people deserve better than this.

23. right! and what about the safety of our soldiers?
to use obl's head like a political football is to be without conscience. par for the course for the sociopaths-in-charge.

okay, so they capture obl and iraq still explodes in civil war. what then? brag about our economy? as far as i can see, the shrub is as hemmed in as much as osama bin boxed.

Unless OBL has gotten a transplant since '01, he's going to need kidney dialysis on a regular basis. How could he have access to that hiding in the mountains?

27. he's been dead and in a freezer for a couple of years now
either that or Pakistan's been hosting him and giving him what he needs and they're finally giving him up in return for us NOT giving them a hard time for selling nuclear weapons to every nut who has a briefcase full of money.

Either way it's fucked up big time.

Can you believe how Pakistan is exactly what we accused Iraq of being? Yet we're all buddy-buddy with Pakistan?

Makes me sick.

28. Why do they credit Bush with things like this? It's the military
and intelligence forces that should get the credit - and the American people for financing it.

Bush just prolonged the day it would happen - and cost many lives in the process - with his stupid Iraq invasion.

29. i can't see where
the capture of Bin Laden can help Bush or any president, Laden is going to get caught or killed no matter who is in the WH, and when he is caught someone else will just step up to the plate and carry out orders that have been laid out for years.
