Howard Stern talks about Al Franken's book |
|
Stern mentioned that he read and enjoyed Al's LIES book. More importantly, he bashed the Bush administration. I believe his exact words were,"I guess I'm now in the 'anyone but Bush' category".
I think this is great. I think Howard reaches many people that aren't politically savvy, and his denouncing Bush is great for us. Stern cited Bush's stance with the FCC, the stem cell research ban, and the economy as to why he's against him.
He also told a right-winger on his show that he should read Al's book and not listen to only what Rush says. The guy tried to say that Al's book has some lie about Bush's service during 'Nam. Howard told him to shut up and read the book.

1. That book is such a great tool for the swing/moderate voter... |
|
A republican is never going to read it and never be convinced. But Al tempers his words with both humor and factual citations and puts things in very simple terms that people can understand.

I stopped listening after his unwavering support for the war in Iraq before and his refusal to listen to other sides after being against the Vietnam War 30 years ago when he was a student...he believed the Iraq-Al Qaeda connection with the other 70% of Americans.

3. When did Stern talk about this book? |
|
I am surprised.
Stern absolutely incensed me recently with his blind support for the war in Iraq, and screaming at callers who thought otherwise. It is interesting to see what he is starting to "think" a bit, and is coming around to an "anyone but Bush" way of thinking.

4. Say what you will about Stern... |
|
But he is an accurate reflection of a lot of the american public and how they vote and what they think.
There are plenty out there who were for the Iraq war but who aren't bush apologists or freepers or even republicans. And he is a reflection of that. He disagrees with bush on almost everything else but was in favor of the war on terror and all of it's outlying issues/attacks.

Howard jumped the shark when he got divorced. He truly had the best of all worlds--Hugh Hefner by day, rock and roll in the afteroon and downright upright suburban respectability at night. His audience loved him for it because he, like they, could only talk and look, but not touch. But after his divorce, he was available again, and his desires became the stuff of possibility, not fantasy. He hasn't been the same since because quite frankly, his fans got jealous. He knows he can't play the role of the overgrown juvenile delinquent forever. He knows that he'll have to pull a Madonna and transform into something else if what's left of his franchise is going to survive...like maybe the opposite of Rush Limbaugh?

He kept telling his viewers that Saddam was involved in 911 and Al quedia. When people would bring up facts, Howard would say why don’t you burn a flag. I had to quit cold turkey, which was sad because I love his humor. Pre- 911, I actually found him to be rational when he put on his serious hat. I love Howard’s rants about the crock organized religion is and social issues.
Post 911, He has become a disinformation fear mongering disc jockey calling for the death ever-single person in France. He kept saying how good Bush is doing on the war on terrorism.

He's right up there with Michael Moore on my list. I especially love the way he bashes Ann Coulter. Hate is not a word I use very often, but I have no problem with it in reference to her. :grr:

10. okay, the wind has definitely changed... |

in the public. This says it clear as day, if Stern's on the bandwagon.
Never mind the polls. Actually getting out to the voting booth makes you think. Bush would lose today against ABB.

Now watch out for the engineered events. Of many different possible kinds.
We may still have to fight to make sure there is a real election.
