Clinton and Bush on AIDS. Need source info
I'm working on a reply to this:

The liberals hate George W. Bush so much that they will not even acknowledge that he is the leader in the world that has done the most to combat AIDS in Africa in the history of the world.

The bottom line is that Bush has done more for AIDS (and education, for that matter) than Clinton ever did and liberals turn a blind eye.

Does anyone have any sources or statistics that would refute this. AIDS funding is not something I know a lot about (but I should know more)

THanks

Melissa

1. I don't have those statistics
but I do know that MANY people know without question that the Reagan/Bush administration did VERY LITTLE to address the Aids crisis when it was at it's height (in the 80's) and thousands and thousands of people died. ACT UP was a radical organization that HAD to be formed to try to wake Washington up in those horrible, horrible days. I also KNOW that during the Clinton administration, the cocktail drugs were discovered and many, many lives have been saved.

2. Dept of Ed funding is up record amount -but costs of mandated testing even
more - so net going to real education is actually down - States are refusing increased DOE funding so as to maintain quality of current teaching!

It's Not that Bush plays crazy games - but the Bush family has an interest in a testing company?!?

3. Clinton and AIDS
Have you any idea how he is spending his time ?

His Foundation has been concentrated on AIDS AIDS AIDS

Much of his time has been in Africa.

Bush time? Campaign tour. Raising $$$ for his first election.

Recall his usual campaign blabber in 2000-"I will put an end to Permanent Campaigning".

Sho Nuff!! He has set all time records for-A.amount of time on campaign trail. B. $$$ raised.

Just another on my list of 194 lies by Bush and Staff.

In first 18 months in office he spent 42% on vacation. Per the Wash Post writer who has, for many years, tracked movement of presidents.

Hardest working? WJC. Most time on job? WJC.
bless his heart.

4. Bush on AIDS
How much has he allocated to fighting aids in Africa per his promise of 5 Billion?

How much has he allocated to "Leaving No Child Behind"?

Governors are screaming "He promised but left us holding the bag".

One thing for certain. When this administration presents something it is best to "buyer beware" for it is the most dishonest since Dinosaurs.

I do not, yet, have the $$ numbers but will get them.

An absolute. They will be borrowed dollars.

The biggest "spend and borrow" administration in history makes Reagan's "Spend and Borrow" administration look cheap.

True tight wad conservative was Clinton.
